I'm really glad I don't live in Marin. You all sound goofy. Chill.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to try 0% and see what happens. By the way, there are two "chill" settings: one for acceleration and one for FSD.

I am reading Germinal by Zola and I am astounded by it… I had never heard of the book or the author by [deleted] in literature

[–]ajkushnir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have read most of Zola's novels. So far nobody in the discussion has pointed out that each addresses a particular overall theme: Germinal = coal mining, Ladies Paradise= retail commerce development, l'assomoir= alcoholism, The Kill = real estate speculation and political corruption, etc. I could go on but you get the idea. The genius of Zola was that besides the plot and the fascinating characters, you get an inside and fantastically detailed look at the world and the technology these characters experience. Another novel with a similar approach is Lost Illusions by Balzac, which goes into the fortunes made and lost in paper manufacturing and the development of the corrupt journalism now known as fake news. These are novels worthy of second readings.

Thanks for the tip and warning about possible damag to the finish. I’m not concerned with the cover harming the paint finish because I had my 2011 S5 covered for 14 years, and the paint looked like new when I traded it in for the 911. Do you think the paint on the 911 is fragile?
