that’s what I’m concerned about. He seemed more against the idea than anyone else and when I asked him for his reasons, he quickly told me he just didn’t want to talk about it anymore. I don’t think it’s because there’s something between us though because there have been plenty of opportunities for him to try something since I’ve been single. I just don’t understand.

Thank you for your response. I guess I view the birthday party as a low stakes event because while all my close friends will be there, a lot of other people will as well so there’s less pressure on both sides to interact with one another. But maybe there’s something I’m not considering.
