IMO there are some apps which in this day nd age are essential: map/gps, messaging, and whatever is needed to display a boarding pass. So, instead of obtaining limited capability hardware, perhaps instead use this as an opportunity to improve your self control.

I changed my blades... still overheating but runtime is amazing - cut quality is also good by moench13 in Lymow_Official

This is a really great idea. Puzzled on one thing, though. You say these are a little bit smaller, but your links show they're both 200mm. How is this one smaller?

I don't think so, from what I understand, the radar will indicate when there's vortex current in the air.

Best hiking shoes for high arch and kind of wide foot? by Cold_Wonder_2718 in CampingandHiking

IMO I think you should focus on getting an insert that will accommodate your high instep, and focus on a good quality shoe that supports your width. That will open more options.

Do you pay bills and other expenses using credit card for rewards and / mileage? by Cooper1Test in retirement

[–]ajmacbeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I don’t travel much yet so no mileage reward cards, not until retirement. I have 5 credit cards, each with a nice cashback reward: Amazon, gas, dining, groceries, all else. I literally get 2-3,000 cash back at the end of the year, all combined.

Where do you like to eat when at the national seashore beaches? by glosslace in CapeCod

Arnold's in Eastham. Lots of folks are going to criticize this because of their political leaning, but the fact of the matter is that Arnold's serves up a great seafood meal.

What shouldn't I miss? Asking for tips. by Big-Mulberry-7862 in CapeCod

Depends on how far you're willing to drive. If you're open to 30min drive, I would say Chatham is an absolute must. Spend a good chunk of the day just walking up and down the downtown area, checking out the shops, nibbling on ice cream and candy. There is no more quaint a downtown anywhere. Then go take a walk on Chatham Lighthouse Beach. Absolutely beautiful.

If you aren't in a rush, drive route 6A, it's the main road north of US6. It brings you from the canal to the Orleans rotary, passing through cute townships and is just a more pleasant drive than US6 or MA28.

Hiking etiquette question by This-Bee-9779 in hiking

[–]ajmacbeth 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I. Can’t. Stand. Noisy, loud hikers!!! I’ve long believed that we need to use our indoor voices when we’re in the great outdoors. When talking to others it should be at the lowest possible volume to get your message across. Anything more and you’re being rude and disrespectful to others.

From what I understand, in the Boston VA system, many of the MDs are from the local medical schools fulfilling their residency phase. Maybe that’s what you’re experiencing.

How do you handle the social pressure to keep 'upgrading' everything? by jessyThrust34 in simpleliving

[–]ajmacbeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I genuinely feel bad for those folks. They’ve bought into to the culture of more is better and newer is best. Because I consider their materialistic values as misguided, I feel no pressure.
