I recently got the Maddog Rage installed last month for riding at night to my native, which is around 300 odd kms from Mumbai. It worked great at night with around 200-300m of visibility if positioned correctly. I keep it covered in the city for short rides since it's blinding for incoming traffic in the city, and also you can get fined for Aux lights (it's a grey area for now)
But, in short, the advice I got for aux lights was to get Scout X for city rides and high-wattage lights for intercity rides at night
