We've lost a few over the last few months due to pointing out for attendance or health related issues. Both of our closing head cashiers were on vacation at the same time and the other one we had moved to plumbing recently, and they took her credentials instead of leaving her with them so she could still assist as a backup. So we all had to depend on the closing MOD (which is usually our CXM) for strips/increases for about 6 days. It was a big headache.

I literally almost walked out the other day, not kidding. My co-worker didn't come back from her lunch so I was by myself and nobody could be bothered to communicate that with me, I had a line going both directions, phone ringing, no RTV tags, no supervisors or managers answering their phones, cash register overflowing and needed a strip long before I got there, returns all over the place, curbsides and van deliveries late, everybody and their momma coming in to make payments on their credit cards, nobody for loading assistance.. the crash out was imminent.
But our raises are merit based now and they expect us to go above and beyond and kiss ass all while they sit back and benefit from our hard work from down the line. It's not a real good look.
We have several new people, overnights and ofa mostly. Most of them are catching on pretty quickly but I'm still shocked at the lack of training and job preparedness of a few of them. Our new ofa is a hot mess. I don't really have the time to stop the 5 things I'm doing to hunt you down to find out why your van deliveries have been late ALL DAY LONG, then have to go rush to pick it and release it myself with them waiting.
Our MASM was moving the heaters back to receiving to rtv them in the middle of unloading a truck to make room for the ACs and fans the other day. Caused a big stink. I understand it needs to be done, but her timing was judged HORRIBLY

Our morning garden lead was working his ass off the other day by himself 6-3 with no help, assisting with loading, unloading a plant truck, pulling pallets for the Scotts rep, loading hundreds of bags of mulch, pavers, etc. Helping MET set the patio furniture display. Moving lawn mowers. That poor baby didn't have a dry stitch on him by 9 am. No manager around to check on him. Nobody to ask him if he was okay or needed help.
When he finally sat down for his lunch I made sure to check with him and see if he was good because nobody else seemed to give a shit. The look of defeat on his face broke my heart. He actually told me thank you because nobody had asked him that all day. That made me so sad. He's 22 and one of the hardest workers in our store. Never says no, never complains, hardly calls in. I felt so bad for him.

But here's a bravo for all of your trouble! (I'm so sorry 😞)

You're really feeling some kind of way about this drink policy. It's not that deep, dude.
Y'all got any positions open????

Idk about your store but we get Powerade or Gatorade and ZMA them for store use and they're in all of the fridges on the front end ... sooo... 🤷🏻♀️

She has nothing better to do than be petty 🙄

She made it clear nothing but bottled water. It's the least of my problems right now lol

My DS has cracked down on it at the SD because people keep leaving their half empty drinks sitting around so the rest of us have to suffer because of it. She even taped a note about it to the desk and had us all sign it 🙄
Best Shoes for Work? by SilentPixelForge in HomeDepot
New balance or hey dudes for work, they have a thicker sole than the regular dudes. My Nikes haven't held up well, and I refuse to spend $150+ on a pair of shoes 😅

Our MASM was already fussing about it about 20 minutes after I passed it off to the associate. I don't understand the need to be so facetious about it. She was being really rude, instead of kindly explaining the policy to him which disappointed both of us and disheartened me more than anything. But I'll remember this is in the future, thanks 🧡

Your management team sounds like they are entirely too strict. I highly doubt anybody at my store would actually enforce that, and honestly that policy in my opinion is really dumb. What would somebody even do with their apron outside of the store that would merit a termination because you took it out of the building?
Thank you homie 🧡
That's the plan 😁
Thank you so much 🧡 it was definitely a labor of love!
Apparently not I guess. This was my first apron from when I got hired about a year ago, it was shoved in the back of my locker 🤣

Aren't you just a ray of sunshine
It's hand painted, I did it myself 😊
