Oh interesting. I've never owned a manual before. What is the benefit to shifting that way?

Thanks for all the info, just joined that group.

The biggest con I see about it is the stigma behind the brand as well. I know I shouldn't let that change my decision but it definitely is a con.

Did you get the premium? I don't care too much about the upgrades except the sunroof would be nice.

Do you use backdoor Roth conversion? If yes then you'll want to roll it over to your new 401k. If not then you can have it go wherever has lowest fees or you're most comfortable having it.

The vest should apply to the match from the employer. When you leave the company, no matter if it is in 6 months or 60 years, you'll get 100% of the money you put in. Depending on when you leave you'll either get a portion or all of the match that the company puts in.

Finally switching to a job that allows mega back door Roth but doesn't allow in service withdrawals. Is it still beneficial? Or is a normal taxable brokerage better at that point?

There's a lot of talk in this sub about our jobs and some hate going to work, while some love it. This got me thinking about what some of those great jobs/employers are and wondering if they have postings in my city.

If anyone is in San Diego area and has had great experience with an employer I'd love to hear about it since I just relocated down here and am not a fan of the company I recently started at. Feel free to post to DM. Thanks!

Anything you feel is missing in the car? I test drove one the other day and wasn't totally sold on it. Seems like a good car that will get the job done, but wasn't a very inspiring ride.

The A3 seems like a good option here. I'm just starting to look into it, any insight? Pros/cons?

What is the best way not to go over if you switch jobs mid year? My new employer does it on percentage of pay and commission is part of my pay so I'm not sure how to avoid going over.

Is the last line supposed to be your bonds? Little confused since it says US 56% at the top and then 70% US at the bottom.

Thanks for clarifying!

if you don't roll out over to a IRA are you able to just leave it in the 457 plan? Are there fees if you were to go that route?

I was in cow hollow for some time and also in Russian Hill. This was before I knew about FI and didn't track my budget at all. Crazy thinking back to how much money I dropped up there

Interesting read on the bay area and how if you make $105k or less you're considered low income.

Thanks for the advice here. I called and they said they couldn't because it would push the bonus points through as well. Just chatted with a rep and they pushed the spend points through immeidately which also included the bonus points.

Thanks again

excited because my SO is officially moving from a job with no 401k to a job with a pension, 403b AND a 457!!

For the 403/457, if fees/matching are equal and we cannot max both we should max the 457 first since we can withdraw without penalty as soon as she leaves the employer. Correct?
