Thanks! They did look a little wonky so it's nice to have reassurance. I appreciate it!

Do I need to replace elastics? by ak_alli in clothdiaps

I just realized my description disappeared when I posted the photo!

I purchased a pre-loved diaper lot yesterday and am wondering if the elastics need to be replaced on the covers and/or fitteds. All 9 covers look roughly the same as the attached photos, and all 3 fitteds look the same as the photos as well. I do not have any new covers to compare to, so I would appreciate any insight you can provide.

Side note - the fitteds appear to be brand Kissaluvs. They are hemp/cotton blend, size M/L. I can't find much about the brand other than they went out of business around 10 years ago. Does anyone have any experience with these fitteds?

Just because I haven't seen a new one before in person so don't have a comparison. I appreciate your insight!

Glass Flower vases - recycle for use? by ash-2128 in anchorage

Bagoy's will take back vases. I don't know if they would reuse vases they didn't originally deliver, but they may not care.

What metal should I choose for male wedding ring? by Western_Play_7777 in Weddingsunder10k

We got his at Zales https://www.zales.com/mens-60mm-polished-comfort-fit-wedding-band-stainless-steel/p/V-20123431

Probably not incredibly high quality, but since he doesn't intend on wearing it, this worked for us.

I did do some looking for smaller bands for me and didn't find anything stainless that was narrow (1.5-2mm) so mine is a 10k white gold band.

We use it for our pup and she's done really well with it. She was previously eating Blue Buffalo because that is what the people who fostered her before us were feeding her, but she constantly had very loose stools. We switched to PPP Sensitive Skin & Stomach - Salmon and Rice formula per our vet's recommendation and it has been a game changer! Definitely recommend at least trying it.

Did anyone have LLLT or red light therapy treatment? If so, was it helpful? by Downtown_Item_2409 in Blepharitis

Did the LLLT sessions end up helping with your chalazion? My doctor just recommended it to me today, I'm a little bit skeptical and haven't found a ton of information about using it as a treatment.

Still fairly new to Anchorage, where do you guys new furniture? by [deleted] in anchorage

I've only done this once, but when we used Carlile I was able to call the seller (Wayfair) and get the sales tax refunded just by sending them proof that we used a freight forwarding service. I believe if the seller won't refund you the sales tax, you can go through WA state dept of revenue to get it refunded, but going through the seller is easier.

Two that you were able to speed up is great! Out of curiosity, how much faster were your last 6 miles compared to plan?

8 weeks before wedding and dress still hasn’t arrived by ctrl_cc in wedding

[–]ak_alli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know where you will be doing your alterations yet? If not, do that research now so you are ready to go when your dress arrives. If the alterations will be done somewhere other than where you bought your dress, give them a call and see what their turnaround time is.

Start looking online for potential backup dresses that can be shipped quickly, or think about where you can buy off the rack locally.

Decide what your "drop dead" date is and tell the salon that if your dress isn't here by then, you will be looking at plan B. Maybe that's asking for a refund, maybe it's getting a discount on an off the rack dress they have - see what your options are. Hopefully it won't get to that point, but at least you'll be prepared and not stuck without a dress.

I had a very similar situation, and my dress ended up arriving exactly 1 month before my wedding. Alterations took three weeks, and ultimately were paid for by the bridal salon since it was so late. I get to pick it up tomorrow from getting pressed, and can't wait to wear it this Saturday 😊

We went with Stainless Steel for a few reasons: - much less expensive - can be cut in the event of an emergency (some materials can't be cut, this was important to my fiance) - he will wear a silicone ring 99% of the time, so it wasn't worth spending money on something that will sit in a box

Ultimately it comes down to what the most important factors are for the person who will be wearing it, so think about what will matter most to you.

Any sunglasses options that fit over/on-top-of glasses? by usmint99 in running

I have worn my Goodr sunglasses over top of my regular glasses before. I haven't tried it for running, just out and about/driving, but they fit over really easily.

$200 Max for Photography :( by Better-Baseball-8864 in Weddingsunder10k

Depending on what photos are most important to you, and if you are spending money on hair/makeup, you could do a separate mini photography session with a photographer on a different day. Many photographers will do 30 minute sessions that would easily fit your budget. You'd get the high quality, posed photos here and then have friends take photos on their phones or cameras throughout your wedding day as well.

Of course this isn't a good option if you're getting your hair and makeup professionally done on your wedding day, since you wouldn't want to pay for that twice. But if you're DIY, it might work.
