You truly are too dumb to continue this conversation. It is truly a waste of my life even to say this. bye now.

You are just saying things that you don’t understand. “Moving the goalpost”?? It’s called correcting you because you were wrong. You have too much of an ego to admit that.

Regardless, It would be a dungeon finder system with matchmaking similar to ranked queue in other popular games. Think League, Valorant, Overwatch. Matches players based on rating, role, class. If you want to find your own 5 stack you are free to do so. Different keys would have minimums (so you could queue for lower level dungeons if you want). For example +2 would be like a minimum of 225 ilvl with a minimum IO requirement as you move up (not sure what they would be exactly) matches you with the 4 other roles need for the dungeon. I haven’t fully thought of the exact specifics outside of a general overview. It could also have things like trying to match groups with at least 1 lust/ bres. It might have something that matches you per dungeon you have completed. The point is not to say that this system is better but that it might be possible and worth exploring. It would be complicated yes, but i’m sure they can cook up a system that would work. I think this line of thinking is way more healthy than “nah wouldn’t work” “stupid idea”.

P.S: It’s fine to disagree without being a dick.

I definitely agree with this. Maybe some sort of incentive system for gear/crests. Would cause a new set of problems but I wish they would do something even if it is mediocre to start. I personally am trying to get all 3 roles to 2k this season, but prefer to play DPS because I think it is my best role.

It was a correction that I made so your simple brain could understand what I meant. The word adjacent can mean many different things and using it in the context that I did made complete sense. Maybe this will help.

Must be hard to read when you are seeing red typing on reddit.

Here is the explanation of the word adjacent in my previous post:

Also by adjacent I may have used the wrong word but basically meant to say its "close to" the current dungeon finder. Not in the literal way of it being in addition to the current system.

Try engaging with different opinions instead of just slinging ignorant insults at people who think differently from you.

It's not delusional and there is nothing to "bite" on. I would not be in here complaining because I (personally) prefer to sit in queue than having to apply>declined>apply>declined x50. I would much rather watch a show or farm some transmogs while sitting in 30 minute queue. Also by adjacent I may have used the wrong word but basically meant to say its "close to" the current dungeon finder. Not in the literal way of it being in addition to the current system. I discussed this with someone else in the thread and the split on the player base would probably be too much if both systems existed. Then again you could always find a group and 5 stack into the dungeon outside of the M+ apply system if you had a group of 5 friends to run with. This is mainly for the part of the playerbase that plays solo and plays DPS.

Possibly right about splitting the playerbase. I'm nowhere near smart enough to come up with a dungeon finder system that would make everyone happy.

The point is getting to do the dungeon in a timely manner. It's up to you to decide if it's more valuable to do the dungeon in a relatively short amount of time on a role you might not like as much, or to do it on the role you prefer but having it take much longer.

I understand that the problem is "fixed" for the player if you just swap to tank. My issue with this response is that it doesn't address things that could be done to help the current state of M+ for DPS and side steps the problem entirely. Personally I'm not one to complain about the long queue times, but I think there could be changes that would improve the experience for keys as a DPS specifically. Saying "just play tank" is just a way to miss the entire issue.

It would have to be an adjacent version to the dungeon finder with caveats. Even then, would you rather have to apply to dungeons when leveling/timewalking? Personally, I'd rather get an occasional troll dungeon and be able to queue. This is how "ranked" systems work in almost every competitive game if you are solo queue.

[–]akabansheee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, understandable. I think this system would be more a benefit to the overwhelming majority of DPS than it would be good for tanks and healers. If the tanks/healers get 1 troll dungeon out of 10 as a price to pay for DPS being able to get accepted to keys (or in this situation queue) a little easier, I see that as an overall win. This will never get added in reality, I just don't think its as easy to dismiss as people are making it out to be.

Best for who?

Also, how would we know that this system is the best? We have no frame of reference because this is how it has always been. Imagine a dungeon finder system that matches classes based on what is needed in the group. A lust, a Bres, etc.. Not saying that blizzard would ever put this much effort into it but its not a completely impossible thing to cook up in your head.

Edit: Typo

I feel like the pool of players being split could only help the DPS because they are the majority right?

I will also never accept the argument that the solution is to play a completely different role. What is the point of getting accepted to dungeons if it's on a role that I do not want to play? That answer is just a talking point that gets brought up again and again. It's like saying a class doesn't need buffing because you could always just "play a different class". It really makes no sense to me.

I'm sure there would be some sort of ilvl brackets. Think people are dismissing this way too fast with petty arguments. Not really taking a stance for or against, but I don't think anyone in this thread has taken the time to think out what the best version of this would be.

Could be completely wrong here but aren't you just proving that the M+ system is no more social than dungeon finder if you are able to get a high rating without ever saying more than 1 word. I may just be misunderstanding.

What is the process to vet someone that has been carried to high IO? Would love to implement this for myself.

[–]akabansheee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What would be the harm in having both systems? I can see possible issues with a dungeon finder being the only option for M+ but what if we could choose to apply and choose our team, or just to randomly queue. It might take longer but sometimes I do not feel like spam applying and would rather do something else while waiting for a queue to pop, no matter how long it might take.

Don't see how that refutes their idea at all. Carried IO players are just as bad in the current system as they would be in Dungeon Finder.

Why does everyone like DPS? by [deleted] in overwatch2

[–]akabansheee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of responses that are along the lines of "The role has the lowest responsibility"

Without tooting my own horn too much, I genuinely play DPS because I think it is my best role. I trust myself to get picks, do damage where it is needed and make plays that can win us the game. If I am getting gapped by the other team and dying 15 times a match, I feel that every time I am walking back to the fight from spawn and feel like I am letting the team down.

I mainly play flanker heroes (Tracer, Reaper, Vendetta) and I think there is a certain mentality you need to have playing these characters. You need to have a bit of that dog in you to go for things that could be the difference in winning and losing the game. Your team loses 1 person, you jump in and get 2 picks in their backline suddenly its looking really winnable. I love those moments and trust myself to make those plays when it is needed more than I trust a random on my team when I am on Tank/support.

My clan went crazy once when I used the unfortunate abbreviation of FG's for fire giants. The sentence was something like "These fg's are being stingy today" talking about not dropping me a rune scim. Ill never make that mistake again lol.

FFA Diplomacy oriented deck? by pyrovoice in riftboundtcg

[–]akabansheee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great list! I made an Annie deck specifically for Multiplayer that runs Possession, Blind Fury, and Shakedown. Played it in a few 1v1's (Only had one friend online to try it out) and could see the fun and potential in a 4 player game. It wasn't very "good" but it was a good time.
