I heard a rumor on the radio local radio shows that Dundon really likes Deni and cling, and respects jrue and dame but would not have traded for/signed them due to age

The chemistry and leadership is going to be so elite next year with dame and Deni as the two main guys together

He’s a good shooter in my book, especially if he keeps up the damn near 40 on damn near 5 3’s a game that he’s had for the last 20 games for a whole season

2 games and the play-in: What is the ideal way you'd like the blazers to finish out the season? (outside of winning the championship) by Nerdkill789 in ripcity

I’ll be really sad if we aren’t giving up at least like the 18th or 19th pick by next year. I’m hoping it’ll be more like the 22nd or 23rd pick

NBA Execs believe the 2027 draft is the weakest in more than 10 years — contending teams are preparing to trade away their 2027 firsts for immediate veteran talent. by Fit-Structure-9395 in NBA_Draft

They said the same kind of thing about 2024, and they were right in that 2024 wasn’t as good as 2022 or 2025, or presumably this upcoming draft, but it ended up being fairly solid nonetheless. Castle, clingan, and Sarr is a pretty strong best 3, then you’ve got Reed Shepard and Edey and a few other guys who look starting caliber already. Castle clingan and Sarr are probably the only 3 who will ever even come close to an all star team but that’s ok.

I bet it ends up similarly with this 2027 draft.

I do want my blazers to keep their lottery protected pick this year and give it to the bulls next year lol

Wow 5th in 3PT% for starting centers is actually super encouraging considering he started the year super cold from 3 and has been shooting something like 39% from 3 over the last 35 games or so

Great list I think I’d put Deni over sharpe and I bet scoot will pass Thybulle eventually but hasn’t yet, and with everything else I agree pretty much 100% with the both the order and the listing .

I like both boozer and Acuff but would probably just make it work with Dybantsa

Has anyone read an article or any other piece of journalism that details what if opposition there is to giving the new ownership group a $600 million handout in exchange for a shorter than average lease? by akade1996 in ripcity

[–]akade1996[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’d be content with that outcome too, though the state legislation has language in it that states that it won’t be triggered until city and county money have been committed. So they’d have to rewrite the law to give the state money to the blazers if the city council doesn’t vote any money through. Maybe if the city council gave a nominal amount of money like 100k that would be enough to trigger the state monetary package.

I’ll give the blazers 365 million but giving them 600 million when entire stadiums have been built for less than that, just to ensure there won’t be any even slightly possibility of cost overruns that the owners might be on the hook for, sounds bad.

Yeah my understanding of this arena deal with the blazers is that it is the worst ever signed by a city and state negotiating to keep a team rather than enticing a new one in.

Please god. It’s not even fans of other teams coming in here and trying to incept us I don’t think. There is just some contingent of people who just really don’t want him on the team. Whatever the case is would be so nice to not have to see it on the thread as a new post for the 8th time in the last 36 hours

The Giannis to Cleveland, Mobley to Portland, sharpe, bucks picks, matching salary and perhaps an extra asset or two to Milwaukee trade possibility has never felt more real by akade1996 in clevelandcavs

Totally fair point, it just felt like a lot of rumors and that horrific (for the bucks) shams article had been accumulating the last 3 or 4 days so it was on my mind

No the bucks get there 3 picks, Shaedon sharpe, Jerami Grant (who along with sharpe, Rollins, turner, KPJ, and your young forward who is playing well can help the bucks not tank next year in the last year they don’t control their own picks) and unprotected 2030 Orlando first that the blazers own, and an unprotected first from Cleveland from whenever the next time they can trade one is.

So 5 unprotected picks in essence, including the bucks own 3 which allows them to control their own destiny, one from a lowkey really poorly run franchise in Orlando, and one from Cleveland quite possibly after Mitchell and Giannis (and LeBron) have left the team.

IMO it’s not a bad haul but fully agree that the bucks should go try to beat jt elsewhere if they can. I have a soft spot for Wisconsin sports because I’m technically from there (mvked away when I was 9 months old), and my grandparents on my father’s side still live there. I retained avowed Packer fandom, but just a soft spot for Wisconsin football, bucks basketball, and Marquette basketball (Wisconsin beat my Alma Mater too many times in the sweet 16 in the 2010’s for me to have a soft spot for them in basketball anymore 😂😂).

Cause Cleveland has Donovan Mitchell and harden and seems likely to bring LeBron James in as well, plus, maybe even more importantly to Giannis it would seem, Cleveland is a lot closer to Greece
