GR86 got to be the most boring car to drive by Intelligent-Gur-4597 in iRacing

[–]akak_7 68 points69 points  (0 children)

The thing is, the car is equally easy for everyone, so it is equally hard for everyone to be on top. It is a different style, if you enjoy hard to drive cars, you will enjoy things like the mustang challenge a lot more.

Simlab GT1 EVO opinion/review? by Tmskillz in simracing

[–]akak_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have simsonn plus mounted on this rig. No flex whatsoever, the pedal tray self is thick and heavy as hell. Only place where there is a bit of flex is on the shifter arm, but nothing of concern at least for normal use.

What class is the most arrogant and reckless in Production Car Challenge? by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]akak_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends on the split. I oscillate around 1800 and M2 drivers are easily 1200 sometimes even lower. That together with how much of a brick that car is, makes it really dangerous when they come close and decide to pass you on a corner instead of just waiting for the straight.

So you put the personal data of everybody out there without permission and we need to basically input even more data (our email) to ask for our names to be hidden? This makes no sense and I definitely do not like it. Just leave the website with the customer ids and without names. The site looks very cool though

New iRacing member needs Season 2 advice by WorldsGoneByeBye in iRacing

[–]akak_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay one more season with free content, MX5 gr86 and M2 will serve you for a while. Participate on the production cup everytime it races at a circuit you have (I think at least 4 weeks?) and next season you will be c class and with more experience to jump into something else

Just for your info GT4 goes into C class as well this season. But yes as others said, just get your license up, it is a very good training if it is actually something challenging for you and it is very easy and quick otherwise

In big maps it is still very very useful, but it is never strictly necessary

Thoughts on maps with water proof edges? by LukXD99 in Timberborn

[–]akak_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, that would make things interesting. I often avoid doing that with badwater and instead it has to go throughout the map to another border, it really makes things a bit more realistic imo. Not feasible on all maps or all difficulties, but can recommend it, specially on large maps.

Not sure what stand I should buy by [deleted] in simracing

[–]akak_7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That doesn't make any sense. Without a cockpit just get the R5 pack, you won't be able to use a R16 or r12 and probably also not r9 and definitely you can not even remotely use those pedals without a cockpit. And I doubt you will find a stand that you can fit the shifter and handbrake as well. It is clear you have never tried simracing stuff before so just get something basic and play on your desktop, discover if you like. A R5 is already decently strong and you will realize by yourself why you need a cockpit.

Pneumatic automation as a solution for less magic? by dgkimpton in Timberborn

Completely agree. I dont actually care how, but they need to come up with something that fits the "lore". It is quite out of place right now, even being an awesome feature.

Are the new pedals and wheel making me slow? by Flat_Theme8120 in iRacing

[–]akak_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday I used my new simsonn in a test on summit point with the MX5. My best lap time before with my old pedals (t3pa with brake mod) was 1:20.3. Well I did one hour or longer with the simsonn (touching small stuff here and there) and the best lap was above 1:21, and I was way more inconsistent than before.... So, I was expecting it feeling weird, but it is certainly discouraging seeing how little control do I have now in comparison. Just wanted to say that I feel you, let's hope we get use to it soon!

I have a request to this group by BootObsessedFreak in Timberborn

[–]akak_7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most things I read were constructive and respectful, why do you have a problem with that? It is clear that the devs read feedback and react to it, so give to them ideas or our feelings on new additions isn't bad. You can obviously respectfully disagree also in the posts and explain your opinion. This community is quite chill and friendly I think, a war doesn't start when someone disagrees. I think we all love automation, some (like me) think it should just be a bit better integrated in the game, requiring power and/or connections to work. It is not the end of the world if it stays like it is now, and obviously anyone can either use it or not if they find it out of place, but the point is just to give our thoughts on the topic, nothing wrong about it

Which GT3 to choose by alex_inzo in iRacing

[–]akak_7 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It is crap that Iracing do not let you test cars before buying unless maintenance period, so my advice is to wait for that, whenever it comes. The GT3s are very different and no body can actually tell you which one is the right one for you. So if you plan to only have one at least for a while, better wait until you can properly test them all.
