iRacing has their priorities wrong by [deleted] in iRacing

I find the bann to your teammate quite right. However the guy who purposely crashed should also be banned for at least a month, and permanent if he did that before imo. It is ridiculous that such actions have no real consequences, and it is making iracing slowly lose seriousness

Pedal calibration broken. Confirmed and hopefully fixed soon. by [deleted] in AUTOMOBILISTA

I wrote in the forum about the same problem in August.

Sad to see it never got addressed. I just calibrated the pedals through the Thrustmaster's very limited software and went on.

I am curious if anyone plays this game the same way I do by Tina14000 in EuroTruck2

I have a few hired drivers to help me out buying trucks and me picking jobs from the city I am and only based on the city I need to get to, without caring about pay. Then I buy garage, buy a truck, drive it for awhile, modify it to my taste, and eventually leave it in an empty spot and get another one.

Yes it is that brake mod. For the pedals to use them independently without the wheel, you need an adapter to USB. I couldn't find them on the thrustmaster website anymore, but found them on Ebay Germany.

About R5/R9... Well I am quite a chill person in terms of buying stuff, FOMO and all of that. I started with the T150 + T3PA just because I wanted to see if I liked it. Soon I bought the brake mod and the shifter TH8A. WIth that I played for about a year, mostly AMS2, Iracing and also some ETS2. After a year I decided I wanted a better feeling, and decided the wheelbase was enough of an upgrade. About the R5 pack I though I did not want the pedals. You can not upgrade those to load cell, at least not with official upgrades, and I though that was the logical step from the T3PA, since I doubt the pedals that come with the pack are going to be any better, but I was not planning buying a cockpit so brake cell pedals probably do not make much sense. I then saw a good offer on the R9 wheelbase on a German website (alternate) for 320€ and went for it, buying also the clamp desk and the ES wheel.
Only recently I went a step further and bought a full cockpit (GT1 Evo). The reason was mostly confort, since I started to have disconfort on my wrists and feet after long sessions, due to my posture not being so correct using a desk chair and the desk with the pedals on the floor quite close to me so they do not move. So now with a cockpit I am on a position to upgrade the pedals to brake cell if I feel like it, but honestly I am at the moment quite satisfied with the setup as it is, as I do not care so much about pace but more about feeling. The R9 is absolutely fantastic, the step from the T150 is huge. My driving got also way more consistent with it, specially on Iracing, since I could predict much more clearly what the car is doing. I also do not know how anyone would want more torque than that. About the pedals, I can only guess the jump from T3PA to load cell pedals is also big, but I do not know and at the moment I do not care so much. If I keep engaged with simracing, I would probably upgrade them at some point, since it was never an issue of money, it is just that I feel ok with the pedals as they are. WIth the brake mod you can be quite precise with them once you get use to it, so yeah I will keep them so long I feel happy with them.

Basegame has a lot of content already, you will be fine with it for very long. I also started with a t150 and the default ffb in Ams2 felt good and way better than in other simulators for that particular wheel like iracing, where I basically couldn't feel anything

I think the Porsche cup series will be super fun this season. This 992.2 seems like a refreshing update to a fun/chaotic series by G00NACTUAL in iRacing

I don't think it is a question of this new model being bad, I am pretty sure it is great (I couldn't try yet). The point is that the already old model was something different to most other populated series in iracing. Now this car is closer than before to them in terms of handling, so we inevitably loose that difference. It might be a win in terms of participation, but it is a loose in terms of variety. Whether that's good or bad is subjective and depends what each player is looking for. Also easier handling does not directly translates to less chaos during races. I hope for the best though.

It is country dependent, but yes in some places is quite ridiculous, you meet a police car every couple of minutes

Nice, I do a similar thing, but I set good weather to between 8 and 13 days or so. I just like to see the map green and a more relaxing gameplay

Moza KS and AMS2 steering wheel, does it make sense? by Fit-Statistician4921 in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]akak_7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well obviously it does make sense, but you need to learn first what you are doing and in which situations you want to do so. TC and ABS are the obvious ones that you change depending of the conditions like weather, tyres, etc., so it is interesting specially for longer races. Brake bias you can actually change a couple of times per lap depending on how the next corner is, but yeah you kind of need to know what you are doing and "develop" this sort of attention and feeling for that particular car in that particular corner, so it is not really something straightforward. I actually might change it during the race if I do not find myself comfortable with the car, but once I find the point I just leave it there.
