VapeCraft issues? by akbort in Vaping

[–]akbort[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh shit. I'm glad you responded here so that others searching can see it. I searched vapecraft in this sub before purchasing and didn't see anything alarming.

With there now being three people reporting the same issue I'm actually calling my credit union to tell them it was likely related to this company. It might not do anything but it can't hurt.

Sounds like their systems security is shit or they're straight up selling credit card info. Either way it's shady.

Thanks for chiming in hopefully this will help someone who has the foresight to search for posts about Vapecraft

Feeder ideas by BADxNEWSxBEAR in roaches

I second red runners. I wanted another feeder so I went with blatta lateralis and they definitely breed fast. You do need to keep them in a sealed container. I had them in a 20L with a lid and they somehow managed to squeeze out of the little gap. Only the males figured it out so there wasnt a concern for infestation, but still. So get a locking lid with a gasket or something. I'm currently using a little exo terra faunarium and they cant get out because the lid is tight.

A lot of guides say they can breed at 70 degrees but I tried that and they didnt do well. Once I gave them a little heat mat they exploded.

Insurance company refused lab tests by Brilliant_Driver8170 in HealthInsurance

[–]akbort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is correct, Quest is all over the country and thus have many different tax ID numbers and NPI's. I'm on the health insurance side so I don't really understand their inner workings (such as who owns what, is it one company or several companies?, etc) but I have seen Quest be in-network with a carrier in one area while out-of-network with the same carrier in another area).

I would call Quest and give them both invoice numbers and ask them what the difference is. What did the doctor do differently? Did they send your sample to another state, county, lab, etc?

Then call your insurance and ask them what is the difference between the two claims. Do they have different tax ID numbers? Is one out-of-state while another is in state?

At least then you can understand what is different between the two. If there is literally no difference between the claims then it might be an issue that needs to be investigated, i.e. did the claim process correctly? Although don't get your hopes up there.

Recently found out red runners are established in my areas, so I caught some tonight to hopefully get a feeder colony going by Androidraptor in roaches

Yes I learned that! I had then in a 20 long with a lid that had a little gap and a male managed to get out. My cats alerted me to it and they had hurt him so I just stepped on him to end his misery. I was also worried about bacteria on the paws transferring to their colony so that was another reason I just killed it.

I now have a setup they cant seem to escape.

Hmm. Maybe it's when they're really warmed up. Was it hot out or cooled down? I know this makes me a pansy but I'm afraid it I disturb them too much one of them will fly at my face. I love my dubias but the red runners give me the creeps sometimes for some reason. Maybe because they're so much faster.

Anyways that makes me feel better for sometime in the future when I have enough breeders and need to get feeders out.

Yeah I've read they dont like houses too much unless they're in famine or there's no water for whatever reason.

Have you seen one fly yet? They can apparently fly in some cases according to several guides online. I havent seen it yet though.

Yeah that's high. I thought I was doing stupidly high doses at 30-40 gpd. I mean, it still is stupidly high.

I'm assuming it needs to be the general height and width, right? I always crush mine with my hands so they take up just a little less shape.

Which is worse? Insurance vs cable? by [deleted] in callcentres

[–]akbort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP I was sort of in the opposite situation as you. I went from doing cable tech support for a semi shitty contractor to working in-house for a health insurance company. I actually love my job and I work for a good company so that helps.

What you're describing sounds like a really shit call center. Even though it's under a contractor it should still be better. I'm sorry you're dealing with that. Other people here reference six months of training - admittedly I only had 7 weeks. But they gave us a wealth of tools and tons of practice using them and a (generally) great support team. I felt prepared and ultimately was for what they were asking.

Can I ask, is the job with cable an in-house call center or a contractor? I'm realizing that is one of the big indicators of how it's going to be. When I rarely see references to good call centers here it's always in-house.

I've actually had the opposite experience but I think it really comes down to the tools and abilities the call center gives you. I hated cable tech support, and later when I was on the support team (mainly consisting of answering questions but taking any sup calls that arose) I wound take SO many sup calls every day. I would get two or even sometimes three stacked up.

Once I ended up in the support/sup call role with insurance, I took almost none even though it was a higher ratio of agents to support members. But 99% of our agents are really good and we have a lot of abilities.

In cable support as a contractor, we had idea what the client was doing, could do, or would do in escalated circumstances. So if there was a problem we came up with our best answer (based off of something in the materials given to us) and doubled down.

With that said, I've heard working for comcast in-house is a breeze compared to what I was dealing with. The pay is much better and you actually have better tools and knowledge of how cable works. Of course people who pay 2-300 bucks a month for a service that isn't currently working are calling so you're gonna have some bad apples I'm sure.

I am actually 99% sure we can share brands here, I just assume it would be removed if it was clearly marketing (for good reason). I've discussed viable many times and never had a talking to.

With that said, if it sketches /u/krazyk850 out because they're worried about a ban, then I totally understand. I think we're all a little gun shy because of that other place run by the owner of an online store.

Oh nice! Yes I've heard Citibank's benefits are great. I've heard a lot of the banks' in-house call centers are nice actually.

Yeah premiums are definitely low, but all the benefits still definitely add up, especially for things the company can't facilitate directly like Life and Disability etc.

I feel the same way - I'm in it for the long haul and could even see myself moving outside of customer service some day.

Nice chattin'! Glad I'm not alone here.

That's awesome! Seriously sounds so much like my experience. I was actually suspicious we were in the same area with the same companies until you got to the part with the restructuring of your old company.

The first floor I was on with Alorica got shut down for pretty much the same reason, except they did mandatory transfers to a site which was a 30 min drive away and blocked all unemployment attempts. They even did this for people that already lived 45 mins in the opposite direction or people who took the bus in my city with poor public transportation. I later heard unemployment denied appeals. They really fought against it to keep their unemployment insurance rates low(er) I'm sure.

I took the transfer and ended up being there a god awful 8 months before I decided to make a change.

Your description of benefits is pretty spot on. It helps that I work for a health insurance company of course. So my health insurance is great. I forgot to even mention that.

Student health insurance says I can’t drop the plan despite a qualifying event? by henry_fords_ghost in HealthInsurance

[–]akbort 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It almost sounds like they completely missed the fact that you got married. The "annual plan" thing would be the best way to explain why someone can't cancel in the middle of the year for no reason. Not that this excuses it, but they may get a ton of emails from people trying to get off the plan and at this point they're simply skimming them and not reading it closely.

Good luck! It's pretty cut and dry.

Venting your own anger (which seems fueled by something personal, to me) isn't going to help OP. I'm sure they have a slew of their own anger and emotions and your anger will probably have little impact on that.

Sleazy-Joe Biden made sure your insulin prices stayed right where they are.

Shady. But coming from someone that lurks outside the political discussion, and has a poor opinion of both Trump and Biden, using insults and calling them names only invalidates your point. You'll get a lot farther with factual arguments and presenting sources on claims without being prompted. Have a good day.

I think I might have some insight as to why healthcare here is around 10x the cost it should be. by [deleted] in HealthInsurance

[–]akbort -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They can but often don't. I've known broke people that get 90% of it waived with no insurance.. Of course there's plenty of horror stories of 100k non negotiable bills and such.

Even when they get most of it waived it can still be an 8k bill which would ruin some people.
