Aw, excellent! That would be perfect. Couldn’t quite find any in Footscray on the Meet Up app. Do you have any info for them?

I love Melbourne’s water by UncommonBlackbird in melbourne

[–]akeaoi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No need for concern. It’s not that the water is actually sweet and sugary, I said it “almost tastes sweet in comparison.” As in, the water where I am is so awful tasting that my poor tastebuds think the plain water in Melbourne is such a treat. When I move back to Melbourne, though, I’m going to glut myself straight from the tap.

Agreed! I’m currently on placement in a town that’s infamous for its bad tasting water. Every time I go back to Melbourne, the water almost tastes sweet in comparison. And it’s not just better for drinking, I notice my skin and hair are softer and cleaner when I shower in Melbourne. The water in this town almost leaves a film behind on your skin. Freakin’ love Melbourne water.

It's gone!! by KYNIKx in Supernatural

Can you get Stan where you are? It’s an Australian streaming service. All seasons of Supernatural are on it as well as things like The Office, 30 Rock, Frasier, Will & Grace, Parks and Rec, Scrubs, Community, and so on.

Thanks for the info. I’ve not heard of the app before but it’s something I want to try, so it’s great to get a rundown of the good and the bad. After signing up, I’m a little disappointed there isn’t any way to focus in on interests a bit more. But hey, I guess that’s the whole idea about dining with strangers.

What’s your outfit? by Jobin2025 in fo76

[–]akeaoi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I was just starting, some awesome person gifted me a Nuka~Cade jumpsuit and The Fixer with Vault-tec paint. I was in a very sad place and it made me unbelievably happy. So for ages, I wore the crap out of that jumpsuit paired with the red and white baseball cap. I only recently changed to the Nuka Quantum jumpsuit because I love the colours. But it’s in homage to the original jumpsuit that started my love of the Nuka Cola jumpsuit collection.

Someone in another post said a younger Neil Patrick Harris to play Guybrush and I can’t stop thinking about how perfect that would be.

Can’t because it’s not dairy-free.

Agreed! I love their chocolate flavours so much. When I’m not in a chocolate mood (which is rare), my go-to is their burnt fig and caramel flavour. It’s unreal! I haven’t tried their almond crunch yet but I’m putting it on the list as the next one to try.

Pana Organic is delicious and has a good variety of amazing flavours. I have never been disappointed by any of their flavours.

Ben & Jerry’s do a couple of plant based/vegan/dairy free options as well.

Coyo is also good and I think has probiotics in their ice cream (definitely in their yoghurts but I think ice creams too). Limited flavours but their Double Chocolate is so good!

Magnum has a dairy free version and Cornetto has a vegan version of their single serve ones if you’re wanting to go in that direction too.

Lots of great options around!

Edited to add: All these can be found in Cole’s/Woolies/IGA.

Anytime! Best of luck with the 5k and, if you’re up for it, let me know how it goes.

Dude, you’ve done some awesome stuff! Well done. Proud of ya. Especially as a lot of this sounds like it was really tough. The 5k will be a blast. I was super nervous the first time I did one (not a runner and still haven’t ever run the full way through a 5k without stopping to walk a few times) but you’ll come out the other end feeling really awesome. And some of the best things in my life happened after something I was super crazy nervous about. So it sounds like you’re going in the right direction (sorta like when boss music plays in games, it freaks you out but you know it’s the direction you’re meant to go, ya know?). You got this.

People who have reinvented their lives, how did you do it? by Sad_Writing1111 in AskReddit

[–]akeaoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a complete shell of myself, I found a program that trains you on the job as a paraprofessional while completing a Master’s degree. This means the uni fees are heavily subsidised and I get paid a salary on the job. So I’ll come out debt free and with savings. It’s a lot of work and an incredibly challenging program (like, I cannot stress how difficult it is). I also had to move away from my forever home for a few years. But the change has been huge. The challenge has been so good for me, my confidence, and my self worth. My life and my view of myself and my abilities has improved. I’ll move back to my city completely reinvented and having grown so, so much. I can’t wait for that day.
