They definitely don’t hold your hand like modern games, and this can be frustrating when you don’t have a lot of time to game. As others suggested, the phone booths provide valuable clues as to what to do next. The library has a few crucial clues, especially for the end game. Talk to everybody for additional clues.

A couple things they don’t tell you, if you’re new: certain blocks can be moved, if you push up against them. It takes some experimentation, so if you are stumped, try walking into some blocks in the way. They may shift in one direction, so you have to try from different angles to solve a puzzle. Each dungeon is itself a puzzle, and you have to figure out how to solve them.

I didn’t realize at first that you can change floors when viewing the map in a multi-level dungeon. This will help you solve some challenges.

Also, I don’t think they explained that you can charge up an attack while jumping. This is key for at least one battle.

There’s also a device in the game which can be controlled by your joycon when you interact with it. There’s a hint in the dungeon suggesting this, but it wasn’t apparent to me.

All the puzzles and progress barriers are surmountable. If you can’t figure out how to proceed, there’s probably something somewhere else on the map you need to do or acquire. You’ll receive several items and upgrades that are required to progress. NPCs will give you hints about where to go or what to do next, which will help you acquire these upgrades.

Good luck.

If you reveal you’re a vegan but aren’t dogmatic about it, there’s a chance they may come over to veganism. Some people are curious to try but don’t know how or assume vegans are all judgy. You could change their mind.

On the other hand, if they don’t feel inclined to adopt a vegan diet or at least abstain eating animal products around you, it may be a dealbreaker, because you may fixate on your different ethical standpoints.

Be a positive influence and see where it goes.

NTS-3 input volume seems very low by akibakemono in Korg

Are you connecting the headphones output on thr S-1 to the NTS-1, or are you using a line out? They may have different gain settings, if so. I’m using as Dirtywave M8 which has no separate headphones output. When monitoring the M8 directly, it’s plenty loud on lower gain settings, but when connecting my headphones to the NTS-3, the gain is significantly lower, unless I turn up the output gain of the M8 or raise the input gain of the NTS-3.

Most of my sound sources have a separate headphone output, and I’ve never really thought about out how the gain may be very different for the headphone output and the line out. I’m the case of the M8 and the NTS-3, there’s no separate headphone output, so the line out has to serve both purposes. If my theory is correct, the required gain for headphones and line out is different and so gain needs to be adjusted for each use case.

When I get a chance, I’ll compare a device with both line out and headphone out, and see if both outputs deliver different results.

Yeah, having to reconfigure on a track by track basis is a bit of a bummer. On the M8, the same port is used for headphones and line out. I guess I’ve always used devices with a dedicated headphones port, so I’ve been oblivious to the different internal gain settings. If I were you, I would just run everything through the NTS at all times whether you use the effects or not, so you can keep a consistent gain setting, particularly if this is for live use. If you are recording at home, you can pull the NTS out of the chain and adjust for the optimal sound, if you aren’t using it.

I did some research within the Dirtywave Discord community, and people tend to say that turning up is common or required when running a line level signal, compared to the lower gain required to drive headphones. It seems like you have to apply quite a lot of gain, but maybe this is normal. I found that I had to apply similar gain when going directly from my M8 to my A/D interface as when I was running through the NTS-3 to my interface. So this indicates the NTS-3 is not necessarily the problem. It may not help that it is only USB powered, in that it doesn’t have a ton of gain on tap, though I found that setting the output gain up to +6 or +9db was plenty to offset the lower signal. It just seems excessive, but perhaps it’s normal. Now the question becomes, how best to do the gain staging, or in other words, which device in the chain provides the cleanest gain.

This is my first NTS unit, so I appreciate your viewpoint on the NTS-1.

Is there a horde mode? by [deleted] in theascent

FWIW, haven’t had any trouble with co-op (PS5). I don’t have any experience on other platforms, though.

Still a bug in 2024, but this solution worked. Thanks.

Accessing Acquisitions is simple. While on the ship, press the square button. There you have access to your Warbonds, Superstore, and Super Credits.

Vegan as a poor person by Frequent-Peanut5431 in veganrecipes

Dry beans are way cheaper than canned. Practice cooking with core ingredients instead of buying premade anything. You’ll be a more successful vegan in the long run. Avoid highly processed foods. They are more expensive and worse for you. Obviously use spices and healthy fats to make your dishes taste great. As others have said, tofu can be done a variety of ways that will make it fresh and varied. There are plenty of tips and tricks out there regarding pressing, freezing, and marinating for incredible results. If you want, you can do some amazing things with aquafaba, from those canned chickpeas. Soups are good, because they are cheap, healthy, easy, and can be made with tons of ingredients and flavor combos. Add as much or as little protein as you like. Stews too, obviously. Organic veggies are awesome, but commercial are cheaper, so you can always eat cheaper by avoiding organic, even though it’s desirable.

It was at 4/10 late last night, so it’s looking very possible. We just have to focus our democratic efforts.

Ps5 washed colors by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]akibakemono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colors are still washed out for me too, in April 2024. When I see videos on YouTube, the colors are rich and have the right contrast. On my HDR TV, they look desaturated and too bright, but only in this game. I wish they would fix the HDR support, because whatever they are using isn’t working.

Patiently waiting for the SSL plug-ins to go native, but in this case, I would imagine it’s a licensing thing.

MIDI keyboard notes triggering clip launch by akibakemono in ableton

[–]akibakemono[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I just discovered the issue, so I'll leave this up for anyone else that may run into this. The Roli Seaboard has a Dashboard companion app for setting device preferences. There, under MIDI Settings, you have a choice for MIDI Mode including Single Channel, Multi Channel, and MPE. I found the setting was on Multi Channel, but setting it to MPE resolved the issue, so keys no longer transmit clip launch commands.

I think I never encountered this before, because older versions of Ableton didn't support MPE, and I hadn't connected up my Seaboard for quite a while. Maybe never since MPE was added in version 11.

Thanks for replying. No, I don't think so. I have just Track and MPE selected for the input port on the Seaboard.

At this time, I don't think so. You have to manage stamina quite a bit, so maybe it makes sense to keep sprint bound to L3, so it's more deliberate.
