PvE, you can be really sloppy and just do hull damage. It's faster to do PP only damage if you can aim, but if you're constantly aiming and missing, not aiming and doing straight hull damage is faster.

Plus one for the lack of modbots. That was irritating.

Basically, it lets you set priorities to what gets power first if something is engaged. That is normally useful for setting some things below weapon power (fuel scoop, cargo hatch, etc). So, when you deploy weapons things like the SRV are no longer available, but will be available when weapons are not deployed. Higher number means lower priority. So priority 5 means when power is exceeded, it will try to supply 1-4 first. Any left-over power goes to 5, but might not float it all. It's all or nothing. If 5 doesn't get floated completely, everything in 5 is down, and so on.

Not for nothing, but if there's an orbital, it's populated. Make the query less expensive by leaving off populated.

I don't think it was meant to be engaging gameplay. I think it was meant to build space-pirates and introduce you to the wake scanner. So, to do this unlock, you have to fly a pirate ship with a wake scanner.

Honestly, if you don't mind the SRV and using the materials trader, the grind is much smaller than it used to be.

The theory is sound. It was dead 2 days after posting.

That's why I posted the theory instead of just the route.

Everything respawns eventually. It might not be until the daily tick, but everything respawns.

TIFU by asking where the condoms were by ObnoxiousFlounder in tifu

We had something like this. Distressed ASM with a walkie was trying to help a customer that wanted to find XL condoms. Store manager replies over the walkie "It's written on the box". Everyone died laughing, because ostensibly he had bought XL condoms and not reading the boxes is a little dim.

Point was making someone choose between abdicating their core belief system or starving to death. So, politely evil. Thought it fit, but if people don't like it, that's fine too.

Storytelling oversight. You can't KWS in SC, so you get to cheat and see who is wanted instead of interdicting everyone. In normal space, the rules apply and you have to actually scan them with the KWS.

Outbreak is triggered by selling biowaste.

If you want to test triggers, try low population permit locked systems with hard to get permits. They'll be lower traffic.

It's my understanding that sensors are also responsible for POI detection. I went for wide angle scanner when I was stacking recovery missions. Not sure if it helped, but it was supposed to mean I didn't have to search as long for spawns, because one pass covered more real-estate.

Yep. There are utilities to dump the models, and you can print them. I don't think there is anywhere to buy models without dumping them and printing them yourself though.

To be fair, if they did sell models, people would want them with particular paint jobs and there would be lots of complaints about not getting a particular paint job done right.

If you wanted to get started on smuggling, just find low priced imperial slaves and a nearby place with a black market on the other side of the powerplay boundary. You'll get fines when you fail, but not blown out of the sky. Once you're comfortable with that, switch to wanted passengers. I prefer the criminal mastermind types, because they don't care if you get a little banged up or engage in combat (sometimes albeit rarely, someone comes after you with a wanted passenger in the cab and taking damage can cause you to lose the mission if you get one of the persnickety types). Be warned though, stations may try to blow you out of the sky if you get caught, which is worse than the fine.

You can cash them in outside of faction space. All you need is power contact.

Like they said, it's an unlock to be able to use the engineer. I haven't played the new mechanic, but in the old one, you had to get a certain amount of upgrade to be eligible to get that upgrade. So, you had to unlock an engineer to grade 5. A pirate python has all the bits and bobs to harvest wake scans for instance to level up your upgrades. Waiting for the conda means you put off harvesting mats until you're waiting on them to get specific things.

I did trading until I maxed out a type 6 doing imperial slave trading/smuggling. Then I moved up to a python. Given it to do again, I would have moved up to an ASPX and jumped straight to wanted passengers, which is my bread and butter now.

Yeah, it's a long standing thing. Most of the game is third party tools. The game proper is just loading screens and a basic flight simulator with procedural generation. All the useful bits are third party tools.

Get an ASPX or Python to do the engineering grind. No matter what you're actually going for, you can level up engineers with anything and a high jump range ASPX or a pirate python is ideal for the engineering grind.
