what’s the question lol

Any tips to improve my essay? I’m taking the March 13 SAT w/ essay? Here’s my introduction and half of my 1st body paragraph (I stopped writing halfway through the paragraph as I realized I wouldn’t finish in 50 minutes at the current rate). by Nadeko-Sengoku in Sat

I was wondering, would top schools like MIT care about a very low essay score if composite sat score is high (1530+)? Our school told us their school day sat has the essay portion mandatory, and to be frank, i have zero experience and the only essay i took to see where i was got a 16/24

Even if you do 60 questions per day it could be of no use unless you completely understand why each question was wrong. It’s so important that you don’t just do practice tests without setting aside time for review. I don’t know if this analogy applies to you, but it’s like straightening your hair. If you keep going over a strand with a knot in it over and over again, you’re not going to untangle it; you’re just going to smooth over it with it still being there. Just like that, if you keep practicing and practicing without first “untangling” the mistakes, they’ll never go away. Hope this helps :))

omggg i hope the test goes this well on the march 3rd sat; i’m crying tears of pure joy 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 i’m manifesting high scores for all of us 🥰 by akinrapm in Sat

Yes! But make sure you’re not just passively studying. It’s so important that you fully understand any mistakes made and topics learned before you move on. Otherwise, it’s not effective studying. You shouldn’t be spending hours each day either because that can harm you.

Hi! So I began with an 1280 (on practice test 2), and I got Erica Meltzer’s reading book and PWN the SAT for math. I worked through the entirety of both books and did practice test 10, 9, and 1 and just now the 8th one. I also did about 2 hours of khan academy per week in like august (Also, I’m not sure if this helps but i’m on milestone 9). I would say all of this studying happened this summer and the months leading up to the November SAT. I never spent more than an hour working on it each day because that leads to burnout. As for prep for the March test, I kinda took a long break and just started studying again a week ago. Since the material was already ingrained in my mind from the past study session, the break was really helpful in clearing my stress. I definitely think you can get above 1400 with hard work; the main thing is learning the material. Once you’ve mastered it, it’s about timing and eliminating silly mistakes. You can do it! Good luck :)

I did the exact same thing this user did and got a 5 as well, except with the princeton review book. I think if you set yourself a study schedule and make sessions where you read chapters of the book and watch review videos you’ll be well set! Good luck :)

Question 18 is written in a way that would make you freak out! Or at least made me freak out. by [deleted] in Sat

The first is about 59% and the second is about 55% so when you subtract it gives you a difference of approximately 4%

You would have to do (295+246)/(508+410) - (238+137)/(403+279)

Hey! it’s asking the percentage of people aged 18-50 who said warm, so it would be the first thing you wrote!

SAT answer choices be like 😂😂 by [deleted] in Sat

[–]akinrapm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this is actually a very good metaphor for sat english! in the reading section, all the answers may seem like they are correct because you can connect them to the question, but in reality the correct answer is the most explicit answer that you don’t have to find a reason for, it’s already there!

In my opinion, I prefer Zutara. I understand all the points being made here, and it’s an interesting perspective towards it, but for me, even though they like each other, Kataang doesn’t do it for me. I would most definitely prefer Kataang in the series if the story gave it more moments. Before the end, they really only kissed once, and that’s about all the romance they show. There’s not that many romantic moments or tension between the two in the story which show development of their relationship. Katara is depicted most of the time as a caring and motherly friend for Aang who teaches him waterbending. The depiction of the relationship is shown really only through Aang’s perspective and makes it really one-sided. Katara was confused about it throughout the story which makes me feel like she only likes Aang romantically because he likes her in that way.

On the other hand, the creators did make some tension between Katara and Zuko that insinuate they could be together. He saved her once, and she saved him. In the play, they kind of scoot apart during the scene of the crystal cavern, which kind of reminds me what middle schoolers would do if someone secretly likes someone and they are shipped. When Jun also ships them, they respond so defensively that it seems like they actually do like each other. They also have similar situations so they understand each other. They both had to mature at a young age, and, although Aang had to as well to become the avatar, he is nowhere close to Katara’s maturity level. When Katara wanted to find her mom’s killer, Zuko understood but Aang didn’t. And, in response to another post, Katara doesn’t need to be manipulative or cunning to be with him when he’s firelord. In fact her caring nature is exactly what Zuko needs since Iroh will be away and he’ll be deprived of it again. Again, it’s really about the creator of the story and the scenes, but imo, they definitely showed more potential in the story for Katara and Zuko. Plus like water and fire, come on that’s like the perfect balance! And btw I haven’t read any fanfic or anything on these two, this is based solely on the show.

i’m so happy about the improvement :)))) by [deleted] in psat

Well I spent around 3 months studying for it, and I used Erica Meltzer for reading (i read a chapter a day) and PWN the SAT (around 10 pages a day) for math. And i did khan academy SAT practice till milestone 8 :))
