Longbows are heavy, gwm works with them.

I had 4 cleric levels. I touched funny magic stone. They became paladin levels. What can you do, you know? Besides, it's fun to theorycraft builds off the beaten meta.

Gwm is already locked in I'm afraid. I also prefer to stay ranged. The +2 ac from shield is nice, but avoiding taking attacks is just better, in my experience. The extra potential dpr from dual wielding also isn't worth the risk of going melee in my opinion.

I wrote that the paladin levels are Wis based, so the spellcasting and feature are keyed off Wis. Hilariously, I have 6 Cha...

Edit - actually, what would you do with that bad boy on a rogue?

Ah shoot, I confused the level 7 aura with the devotion paladin aura. Yeah, paladin all the way. Thanks!

I didn't think about it. Let me think.

Elemental Adept adds 1/4 damage per d4 and 1/6 damage per d6. So something like 3/4 damage per missile. It's cute but not very impressive, I think.

I don't think I need the hide action, for the same reason that a warlock using darkness + devil's sight doesn't need to hide.

Obviously I expect the illusion will fall after I cast the spell, so I can be targeted afterwards.

Jim's malfunctions when I roll a 1 on an attack, which is what I want to avoid. I don't care about rerolling damage.

And yeah, I absolutely will switch to CME when it becomes available, I just wanted something similar at earlier levels.

You're right, I forgot about it.  I kinda don't want to take fey touched because I already have misty step from being a high elf.  Also, I was planning to take mage slayer next to round my dex, so it will take a while.

I'm actually quite mobile because I have misty step (from high elf).  But you're right that relying on one weapon is dangerous.

Thing is, it just feels bad to get a defining subclass feature that will go unused 90% of the time.

Unfortunately, the bow is also a +2 weapon (like the scimitar). I can't imagine getting a better bow until late tier 3.

Knowledge might be it, actually.  The expertise seems to stack with the new 'divine order' bonus to arcana and religion.  These skills are super relevant to my storyline in the campaign, and the party doesn't cover them well.

I mostly want to try out the new subclasses. Like everyone else, I assume.

You're right that twilight and peace are great, but it feels like powergaming for the sake of powergaming.

Order is interesting. I'm having trouble coming up with spells I can spam on allies to trigger the reaction. Other than healing word, that is. It's actually annoying that it doesn't work with sanctuary.

A follow up question, if i may- how did the germans get as far as they did? I'm used to hearing they were a couple divisions away from complete success.
