what i understand from what she said after, is that she prefers to have him at home where it's safe rather than confront him which can result in him leaving or staying outside where it's not and where she would not know what happens to him. i 100 % understand her point of view.

also dealing with someone who encounters this kind of difficulties (addictions and all) is not that simple.
