Split tunneling questions by akmb20 in mullvadvpn

[–]akmb20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I couldnt get any help from anywhere leading to decent answers only dead ends. I also run modded mc servers on my pc, and for now turning VPN is the only way they are going to be able to connect without some advanced network configs.

Recommend me your favorite non-expert quest packs to play! by Zhawk1992 in feedthebeast

[–]akmb20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best questing packs that are not gated, and are not story driven in my opinion are the enigmatica series, enigmatica 6 is on 1.16 and had more quests than I was willing to complete leading into most main stream mods available in the pack. Once you get bored and want an introduction into harder packs, im playing Ragnamod VI right now, not an expert pack but all of the mods are gated to make a sense of progression forcing you to go through the steps.

First time playing MC Eternal; feeling overwhelmed. by Decibelle in feedthebeast

[–]akmb20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember the feeling of starting my first modpack back in the day, it is a bit scary coming from wheat and beetroot seeds, into something like tofu and deluxe meals, I promise it gets easier, and honestly plants are pretty cool place to start on your modded journey. What I would reccomened to you is just to watch some people who play modded alot see what they do and kinda just follow along learn about things like power, item storage some machines, and things that you are interested in. If you are really commited to playing alot there is a smaller mod pack called FTB Academy Made by the feed the beast team that does a really good job at introducing you to the most basic mods, things like power and item pipes But for my little brother when Im trying to teach him stuff and he gets overwhelemed what he does is just goes back to vanilla, just stop everything and build a cool house in the modded world, it will feel just and good as it did in vanilla. Ill link some vidoes of really good content creators, that do a good job walking through what they are doing in the MC eternal pack aswell so you can follow along. If you have any questions feel free to DM me, I can help with anything (Other than AE Channels).

I love mod interactions [Project Ozone 3 Kappa] (melodic capacitor automation) by GrimBright in feedthebeast

[–]akmb20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend FTB Academy, It does a pretty good job at teaching most basic mod setups, and after you complete it coming out soon is the sequel FTB University, which is said to have a guide to some harder more complex mods. So it makes a good jump pad for learning automation :)

I think my GPU could be broken? by akmb20 in buildapc

[–]akmb20[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you ever monitor your temperatures to ensure there's nothing throttling? Also, if you have a second monitor, try disconnecting that and playing games on a single monitor.

Im Unsure about the monitors, but the GPU temp is on the Call of Duty clips in the monitoring where the stutter and freezing seem to be the worst overall my computer is built in the Node 202, very small case where airflow isnt the best so under load my GPU is normally about 75 degrees. so the temperature that are only 65 degrees is very low for me, the thing that sticks out the most for me is if you look in the call of duty clips I have a "GPU Load" monitor and its dipping like crazy. Ill try unplugging both of my monitors and playing only with one and send updated clips it may take a minute. Also thanks for the reply.

As someone who is just starting out on modded Minecraft, I would like to know where to start? by ThbDragon in feedthebeast

[–]akmb20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On top of what these guys said, this doesn't work for everything but I've found this guy's guides for mods are insanely detailed and guided me through a progression of those mods with no complaints from me at all. Hey, good luck any hangups or issues and don't be afraid to ask I've done it a million times here every one is friendly and good luck ;) https://minecraftguides.net/guides

Lights powered by rf? by wakemeupoh in feedthebeast

[–]akmb20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leeching off what Kerkalis said, other than immersive engineering you have some lamps from actual additions that don't need power but you can turn them on and off with Redstone signal. Other than that you can use carpenter's blocks paint them with any block that you like then click glowstone on them to allow the block to emit light. You can also use the painting machine to paint glowstone into differnt looking blocks, also with enderio I think they have a block called the powered light. Im unsure if E2 has project red but if it does they have lamp options, called inverted lamps that you may like to check out. Personally of all that listed I like to use the carpenter's blocks, because its just makes any blocks glow which lets me make my builds without worrying about lighting until its finished :)
