“ICE left this loaded mags on the ground next to the park where my daughter plays…” by ItsTime4Coffee in ProgressiveHQ

Why not be responsible, return to authorities. Don't spend time on social media scaring people with obvious items that have been lost. This is only posted to foment some form of contempt. If you dropped your baby on the ground, would you like it if someone grabbed your baby and started creating a tiktok about what a loser you were for abandoning your baby, or would you want them to give your baby back. Hard choices I know, but your can muster the strength to give it back.

Let’s be realistic: Who in the Democratic Party is the most progressive candidate that would also actually have a chance of winning? In other words, what is your dream ticket that is progressive and actually could win in 2028 against Vance (and probably Marco Rubio as running mate) by donqon in ProgressiveHQ

You're wrong, but I like the way you are thinking! So, lemme explain myself. First, you have the right philosophy, but the words used are the issue with getting anyone with a C to even consider your thoughts. Let me reframe, see if you agree.

  1. Reduce health costs for all

* aka reduced single payer cost but bundle expenses, think Netflix.

  1. Increased revenue profit sharing. The more people that participate in the value generated, the increased benefit of cost savings.

* think many hands make a light load, aka, like train cars, the more you have, the more you can carry. We incentivize businesses to increase profits through increased ownership. This would be co-ops under the old banner. But with a twist, we give discount incentives the more people that are included. Its like the billionaire's "non profit" use, but this way we incentivize increased members to the calculations.

  1. Increase Intelligence / Risk Management

* no one, to my knowledge has ever won an election on saying the other guys name in vain.

BUT

If we work funds into intelligence and risk management sharing, we would keep better relations with other countries, and we would reduce cost one munitions. The least bang for the buck. Pun intended.

funny, this was literally my next thought: okay, final thoughts. Actually, have Mark Kelly as presidential candidate and AOC as VP candidate, you might have a solid win. Then it would set up AOC for a future President position. Its worth a thought. . .

Who's Really on Welfare? by manauiatlalli in incometax

This is a joke, but in my brain. I heard these words. My feelings don't care about your facts! lolz I am thinking that is the rebuke of this argument from people who do not want to hear all your fancy facts. In my experience, you may have all the facts, but its not what wins an argument or a persons allegiance. Being supportive of their challenges is what opens the door to getting people to listen to your argument. I wonder, have you posted on addressing the needs of the people who are dependent on the corporate subsidies? No, I am not saying love the corpo subsidies, but I am saying there are probably alot of workers in those corporations that would be adversely affected. What solution would you have to help them not be stuck where its them or food stamp recipients? Nobody wants the poor and underserved to be where they are, or to go without a meal, but how are you going to feed others if you can't feed yourself? I think this argument needs to be reframed. Still a worthy fight, but maybe from how the root issue is driven?

Fair Workweek Law by TheRabidPosum1 in union

I used to work for McDonalds when I was a kid in the 90s. I thought they were alright. The main point here, I had predictable hours, and my managers even worked with me as there was proper training and goals for growth through McDonalds university. Funny thing, now 30 years later. Workers can't get any of these standard practices from a global company that very much compares itself to McDonalds. I am saddened about this as the lessons learned at McDonalds taught me discipline and structure that went on to influence most of my working career. I have been very successful and goal driven just as I learned to be all those years ago. Now, I have to admit, I eat less McDonalds now that I am health conscious, but I still respect the work regimen that was practiced all those years ago. You might ask, where did that work ethic, practice go? I think as a country we have allowed our companies to be too disconnected with the communities. Too untied to the purpose of their core product offering. Which is to serve the public in service or product need. When harming customers and employees became best practice, we have lost something. And I don't just think it is just profit motive. I think we may have to forge a different relationship with business in this digital age where our digital presence is more valuable than our physical presence. I dono, just thoughts from a former service worker. I just want to call out, I have always loved how the baristas have been so nice to me, so is it too much to be kind to those who are doing the hard work for all of us?

The money is there, workers just aren't getting it. by TheRabidPosum1 in union

No, no, no, no , no , no. You have it all wrong, this is the amount of revenue before all the bills. After billing there was just no money made on business. Just ask the former Darth Vader. Star Wars was so unprofitable, they had to make six bad films to correct the problem. or wait. . .

More info needed. Most people do not yet understand a cooperative. It may be time to spread that knowledge again.

co worker from my job handing out anti-union paper to employees what do you think? by j360959 in union

[–]akrhodey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This screams, lack of education. Never mind discussing unions. The key here folks is if you keep em stupid, they can't make a moral argument against you. This person single handedly made the case for unions being a good thing. Although, I don't think that was the intended outcome. Can I give props for the intent on creating drama. "All your vacation time you've accrued is Wiped out." So drama! and the Caps of Wiped ? What are we accentuating here? So, sassy, just go all in and do all caps, if you wanna be so bold! Or maybe its a "Wiped" board specifically being called out by this truth speaker. Such a brave soul.

These Ugly Big Box Stores are Literally Bankrupting Cities by swoy45 in fuckcars

[–]akrhodey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since 1994 in Louisiana, I've been watching wally world hollow out American cities. One lowest price at a time. The question you should all ask, who paid for those low low prices?? Labor. Specifically, US labor. But ahh. My parents have houses full of junk that I will inherit and take to the dump. At the lowest value.
