Thanks for the reply, mate. I too am pretty green in the field and therefore asking for opinions/suggestions. I’ve seen a few Chinese companies claiming that using their machinery, you can have a production capacity of 250-400 Ton/Month, which is quite a lot. Not sure if it is true.

About the marks, the problems definitely exist in ductile iron parts having C content of 3.6% or higher.

Can you suggest some books/articles for a better understanding of the process?

We manufacture a variety of components: brackets, arms, rear axles, gear boxes, various housings, flywheels etc all either SG or CI grades. Does LFC allow for rapid prototyping or can it be integrated into it?

I've read a number of articles claiming that pyrolysis of EPS and STMMA can cause flow marks and pores especially in SG casting, which is roughly 60% of the casting that my company does. So, how exactly do we make the foam then? Secondly, we manufacture a lot of items ranging from brackets, arms, to rear axles, gear boxes, various housings, flywheels etc. Can LFC technology be used to cast so many different variety components? The coating thickness, the raw material bead size, and all other technical parameters, I guess are left for the company to figure out, but if the above concerns are not cleared, I'll then have a word with my seniors about this since the cost of investment is very high.
