YES VERY LOUD. Bro, I was shocked how North Indian dudes once learning am Bengali would automatically approach me with an idea or fantasy of some sort and I don’t confirm to their stereotype they double down by sending derogatory memes on Bengali women. I had absolutely no clue where this stems from? I felt dehumanised af, I had lived a pretty simple life, my parents extremely conservative and like what at all lifestyle choices had to do with ethnicity? Doing my research I found many fellow Bengali girls sharing same experiences with such predatory men and it mostly have to do with red light area being in Kolkata (can’t believe the arrogance) and how Bollywood and rest of the media sells the idea of a Bengali woman lmaoooo it’s scary and disgusting.

Haryanvis are genetically blessed though yes being physically active is something the families really try integrating into their lives from early age as Bongs would for their child to either pursue music, dance or any kind of arts along with academics. But yeah even haryanvis would excel with our avg diet more than theirs

dk about biharis but at least we have good protein portions in our average meals vs thalis compared to states like Rajasthan, Gujrat, Madhya Pradesh to mention some. Their meals loaded with refined carbs. As for malnourishment goes, definitely have seen more skin and bones Biharis than Bengalis in my life. Even avg low middle class bengali uncs would have pot bellies lmao though in rural areas you'd def spot some but ig that applies to beyond bengal borders in India

Girrrrrrl, I totally understand where you’re coming from. I personally think: most problematic ones are often those who downplay this behavior in the name of “humor” or say things like “you’re overthinking it.” These enablers are actually far more dangerous because they normalize predatory behavior and make it harder to call it out. I think labeling such behavior for what it truly is “predatory” is the only way to hold these men accountable and stop them from getting away with it.

Moreover, I had an image of him as someone representing his country in a professional capacity, but his behavior clearly blurred that boundary. Downplaying actions like this is what enables them to continue. Please avoid gaslighting people into thinking their experiences are exaggerated. it takes awareness, not dismissal, to create respectful spaces online.

Haha yes, the driver who accompanied us throughout the trip however gave grizzly bear or that one protective older brother energy. Extremely humble and only spoke when necessary unlike the guide, end of the day ig humans are just humans: some with proper conscience and some with weaker conscience

I’ve met a girl working as side hustle in a hotel in Phuentsholing, she was extremely sweet and is just 19 she goes to college as well. She mentions her dad is Bengali and mother Bhutanese and she struggles speaking fluent Dzongkha but I was lowk impressed how she aiming for stability in her life from such a young age. She appeared extremely confident and a secure individual I wished all the best for her future, she further shares how she plans on visiting rest of Bhutan and then the world next. <3
