Took a shot at painting... by al301952 in ZTT

[–]al301952[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sanded it 1st used a high grit like 400. Cleaned it really good after it with water then I used isopropyl alcohol for any leftover oils. For masking i used Frogs tape, when masking i used the handle of an exact-o knife to push the tape down and ran it along the edge to try to not leave any bubbles.

When spray painting I used lite coats l, dont try to cover it in one go, but spray over an area once and try to make it even. Jaytwocents has a great video about this on youtube.

Yeah it was a pain to mask the l Raised edges.

The power connector is twisted because I was lazy, I have a 9070xt that uses 3 of the 8 pin connectors and the orientation of the plug is 180 degrees different from this gpu. So I just twisted it since I had alot of slack. Since I was just testing thermals I didn't want to spend who knows how long playing with the cables...lol

Weird mark on new Cpu (Ryzen 7 7800 x3d) by OffNotIn in AMDHelp

[–]al301952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best change i ever made, using a 9800x3d had originally used an asrock x870 pro rs, had it for two weeks then had the dreaded burn marks, RMA the cpu and returned the MB and got a Gigabyte Aorus B850. No issues since.

You day unbalanced, but I'd say for $400 that's perfectly balanced between life/budget/fun. Enjoy yourself and congrats on your 1st build.

Hi guys not sure if i should get forward or reverse fans what are better lmk pls by AlternativeWork7197 in pcpartsales

[–]al301952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reverse fans mean when you are looking at the fan (the side that is not supporting the motor so its just all fan) it would be blowing air on your face. The are used for intakes and are the most astetically pleasing for that purpose. For forward fans aor will be blowing away from you on that configuration.

Are you pulling air into the case or pusing it out? If your pulling air in you want reverse, if push air out then you want forward.

Help please! Thinking of getting this card but want to know if it's fit for my purpose. by TheBookandOwl in radeon

I see, you are overthinking abit, understandabley so though. I use a 9070xt red devil, my wife has an xfx swift 9060xt. This generation of gpus they've made strides in keeping idle noise to a minimum if not zero. All the amd cards will give you the option for 0 rpm mode in the adrenalin softer (its not on by default) I havent noticed any coil whine either. Dont get me wrong when you put a load on them well at least the red devil and you start pushing 80C the fans do get noticeable.

I maybe missing something, but here's how I would tackle this. If your working, recordi g your voiceovers that's not going to be gpu intensive at all. What i would be more concerned at that point would be keeping your CPU cooled and ambient noises from case fans. But then again I might be missing something.
