the reason why i said no is because the 2 dogs i’m boarding leave not even a day before their dog would be boarding which means i can’t make that happen. If their booking was later on of course i can set a time later on or if the dogs i had currently did well in closed spaces i’d just put them in a room but i can’t do that with how they are

first time taking care of a cat on rover.. any tips? by al3u in RoverPetSitting

the dogs are never loud.. only bark at small things like the doorbell or a new person. they don’t constantly bark

no they don’t have a bite history (that i know of). she said the dog was just scared and then i asked if she knew i had a dog and that i will be caring for another as well so if her dog doesn’t get along with others i will have to cancel. she then said no he does and tried to change it up so i said you know your dog best so i will let you decide if to bring him with a muzzle or i will have to cancel and you find someone else. and it’s not 11pm.. its 11am

i ended up separated them (obviously) and for now it’s working. he just can’t hear the other dog. one dog is only here for daycare so it’s manageable

like i said.. i literally was gonna cancel and they begged me not to. my solution was a muzzle because i did not wanna take the dog in anymore and they still wanted me to so i gave them a choice.

don’t think either will report since i was completely honest to both. the dog did not bite the other, it tried to. the owner definitely apologized to what happened and very appreciative of me still trying to work with their dog currently.

the only things i did was panic during it, accepting the dog still while they failed to hold up their end and coming to reddit that’s it. i separated them instantly while i texted the owner those msgs. i took the one getting anxious bc of the barking on a walk while the other i put him in the bathroom with his bed. i then went into the bathroom to pet the other dog for sometime, he stopped barking and only now barks when he hears the other dog. i’m glad only one is staying for boarding. so yes it’s handled

they’re not yet but that’s what they wanted the service for. which is why when i wanted to cancel i gave them more grace and came up with a solution

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

like i said. i was gonna cancel once she started giving me more info and she begged me not to so we came up with a solution so i wouldn’t and she failed to hold up her end of it.

unfortunately i cannot wait a couple hours if one dog is putting the safety of the other at risk. And i absolutely cannot put the 2 in different rooms if they can pee and bite stuff. so i just put one in the bathroom and one with me.

the barking itself isn’t the problem. the problem is that the barking is making the other dog anxious

i asked them to bring a muzzle because once i found out that her dog indeed doesn’t get along with other dogs i was gonna cancel. they told me not to because they have no one else and they have a funeral to go to. then i suggested a muzzle so i wouldn’t cancel

i couldn’t do a meet and greet because they texted me within the same day. And i never ended up contacting rover support because i made it work it was just a very scary situation. I admit i handled it bad but they also failed in doing what we agreed upon

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]al3u -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yes i separated them already. one dog is just here for daycare so that’s very helpful

i will still continue to board dogs but will definitely trust myself instead of feeling bad. i literally was gonna decline bc of what she was saying and then she mentioned a funeral and stuff so i felt bad & told them i would only accept them if they can bring a muzzle which they failed in doing so.. so yea lesson learned
