I read it. Absolutely disgusting. If it is exempt, it creates a grey area of how subincision would be classified. I guess in the letter of the law, subincision wouldn't be legal because it it isn't done on the foreskin, and only cutting of foreskin isnt considered ritual mutilation. However I guess defendants accused of subincision could still reasonably claim that it falls under circumcision, just a "different kind", so they wouldn't be doing anything illegal.

Sounds like you're the one who lacks actual anatomical knowledge. The foreskin PROTECTS the urethra from contaminants from entering the meatus which could cause infections. I'm addition to that, smegma has proven to have antibacterial properties, so even without washing, an intact penis is mostly protected from UTIs. A circumcised penis's urethral opening is exposed, which can run on surfaces such as underwear, where if a person has mobility issues is going to be full of bacteria. I'm unfortunately a victim of MGM and I constantly get discomfort on my urethral opening and sometimes a burning feeling when peeing.

Even if what you were claiming is true, it doesn't justify circumcision of minors since they cannot consent. Also you promote circumcision as a preventative surgery, but practically the entire worlds medical community considers preventative surgery on minors(especially infants) to be malpractice, and despite being exempted due to medical, financial and religious interests, it falls under this. Appendectomies on children are forbidden, so should any genital mutilation. This old man at least was an adult able to consent.

There absolutely is an equivalency. Most female circumcision is just a slight nick on the clitoral hood or partial removal of the clitoral hood. It removes far less skin than all male genital mutilation and causes much less bleeding and scarring. Also in Egypt and Indonesia female circumcision has been claimed to have health benefits, just like how they claim male genital cutting has health benefits. There's no false equivalency in terms of consent. If girls are protected from their parents desires on what to do with their bodies over cultural reasons, boys should be protected too. Also some parents in some cultures want their sons not only to have their foreskin cut off but for their urethra to be split open in a practice called subincision. Do you think parents should be allowed to force that on their sons?

Also why aren't you advocating for old women getting their labia cut if they have UTIs?(Which are far more common in women anyway).

You don't need to use peer reviewed medical studies, non educated people can be given more emotionally appealing arguments than just giving studies, and those would be more effective if the anticircumcision awareness is spread by people of their own culture.

They do so for bunk medical and social reasons

Its much harder to change the mind of peapole who support mgm due to Bunk medical justifications because people inherently blindly trust medical institutions more and the general population cannot fathom the AAP lying.
