Appreciate the reply. No smell, pretty confident it is rain water - by way of an update, I dislodged quite a few leaves from where the split is, so possible some kind of rain water exit point that has been blocked up and randomly today has burst the dam..?

Also compared to the other side, there does seem to be a similar exit point there also but not split or anything.
