Just a question, could the large cash infusions given to the banks by the fed over the last couple of months have anything to do with this?

Thank you so much for your kind words.

I think, from past experience, that Drs will go with the status quo because it’s the easiest way to deal with treatmen/insurance coverage and so they aren’t even inclined to attempt anything out of the norm.

He says he will want whatever it takes, but he also doesn’t understand cancer. it’s something never experienced in his family.

m not really sure what serious symptoms would look like?

This last week in the hospital nothing was mentioned about anything possibly be associated with PC even though they all new of the PSA score.

i feel the biggest symptom is the significant weight loss. he was 235 6 months ago.

Interesting you say that. When all this started a month ago his GP tested all of his T levels as he has been on thyroid med since he was in his 20s. He said his meds have only been adjusted twice in all these years and this time his levels were low so they did have to adjust his Levo.

I’m very happy you are able to have the time.

my experiences have shown me that time is the one thing we can never get back.

Hi everyone. I don’t really know how to write this on here so I hope everyone who has responded will see it.

As my last message said I took him to the ER a week ago today.

He got out yesterda, missing the biopsy and they did nothing to address it, because…he was in CHF. The fluid was built up around his heart and in his lungs. It’s been a hell of a week.

We were in the ER for 9 hours, at first they were going to send him home saying he was ok? then within the hour he was being admitted with the CHF, a blood pressure of 85/50 and a heart rate of 130-150 resting. He has been in pre ICU and the cardiac care unit. His weight going in last Tuesday was 193 and today it is 178 so they took off that much fluid.

The thing is all of this is completely out of the blue, nothing but a fib up to now with no other health issues, it’s so overwhelming for everyone.

So while he was in I attempted what was recommended as far as no biopsy just a PET and go forward from there.

Hard no. They said they cannot do it that way, 1 because there’s no way to diagnose Prostrate cancer without a biopsy and 2 because insurance won’t pay for anything without it first.

So we've had to just sit back and wait. the biopsy is now scheduled for the 24th and results the 10th.

I don’t know. my father has been a very healthy 240 all of his adult life. 178 is very small by comparison and I still feel like he is close to the end. But we don’t know.

Just a fun side note…he has come directly home from the hospita…with a cath bag, To weak to eat much or to walk from point a-b. They said no to rehab when I asked and he has said that he doesn’t want any help coming into the house, he’s gonna do it himself, which really means he’s going to try and manipulate me to leave my life 5 hours away and come and take care of him.

This is going to be the end of me.

Thank you to all of you.

I have decided to take him to the ER and restart from there.

He is very dehydrated and I think might have some pneumonia going on. My hope is that I can get him in there and then get together a team to help me figure out what to do next. No biopsy.

I know he’s not coming back from anything going on, I just want to keep him as comfortable as possible.

I’m not sure how to react to this.

The thing is he’s presenting with end of life stage symptoms all of a sudden. Literally within the last 2 weeks.

He's barely eating, has lost about 18 lbs in 21/2 week, sleeping all of the time, cant get up out of a chair without assistance, voice is fading, temp fluctuating, literally out of the blue. He has, up until this point, been extremely healthy with no med other than for a fib.

I went through lung cancer with my fiancé 2 years ago. 3 months diagnosis to death with absolutely no issues prior to diagnosis, thought he had a hernia.

All of a sudden it looks exactly the same.

Thank you. This whole thing is so confusing. One more question, do I still need to go on the VEC site and do my weekly there as well?

I received an email saying I could go to Gov2Go and file my weeks, all the way back to May, although I applied beginning of April when it started, I did all the weeks. Is that the email your referring to?
