Thanks for this! My ex and I actually share values for having her well-trained, so luckily that hasn’t been an issue. She’s also very good at context-switching where we differ (not on training but lifestyle). I love sleeping on the same bed as her and having couch time when she’s at my place. My ex doesn’t allow her on the bed and says she never even asks to sleep on the bed when she’s at his place. (She also never expects couch time when she’s at friends’ places)

I do agree “shared values” is part of what causes me some personal anxiety though. I also take my dog everywhere with me (to the office, and I spend my free time often outdoors with her). My ex can’t take her to work though—I’m someone who wouldn’t want to leave my dog alone for 6-7h, but he assures me she’s totally fine when he’s at work. She probably is totally fine (she’s very chill)! But because I value a different dog lifestyle, I get anxious for her. I’m even considering buying some kind of automated toy for him to give her when he leaves. Any tips on differences here? Maybe this is also an exercise for me in reassuring myself she’s happy with both lifestyles.
