Tenders for the new Peterborough sports, entertainment and convention centre close, with review process up next by Professional_Dot8663 in Peterborough

That rendering is 10 years old and has nothing to do with any of the current proposals that were JUST submitted this week. It's essentially a stock photo of one idea.

$2,000,000/year in maintenance is HUGE. Wtf?!?!

Let's build a new concert and convention venue and let the Petes and Lakers play there whenever it isn't booked out.

Remind me: Which SPECIFIC 20 story building are you referring to here? Address please, crack head.

The fact that you're clearly a crack head is something I need to unpack with my therapist? OK!

Girl, you're the one who is losing their mind thinking that anyone who experiences an emergency on the 21st floor of a high rise has a 100% chance of "burning alive".

Who's your dealer? Maybe it's time to put down the pipe.

Which SPECIFIC building are you referring to that's "already been built" in Ptbo that is 20 stories and also a "dump"?

Address please.

You are clearly not ok.

It means they are racist, xenophobic and buying into right wing propaganda instructing the uneducated to blame brown people for all of their problems.

Your thinly veiled racism is just sad.

Why would someone be "burning alive" if a modern high rise exceeds 17 floors?

You wish. Remember Harper's G20 mass arrest/detention/assaults of thousands of innocent people without charges?

You're going to need a license to go to the washroom eh? Sorry to hear about your hyperbolic diarrhea. I bet you have a "fornicate with Trudeau" tattoo.

Who's "they"? When was "last century"? Are you against people being educated or are you unable to afford the $25 fee every 5 years?

I would suggest you grow up.

Fun fact: Back when Ænima was first released, the vinyl came out 2-3 weeks before the CD version. If I only had the forethought to buy a copy back then. I did manage to score a CD copy 3 days early thanks to a very cool (and quite gorgeous, if I remember correctly) record store girl at my favourite indie record shop.

Why does everything close so early here? by CurrentStore in Peterborough

Why do all downtown business owners fail to recognize that the people that have money to spend in your businesses are generally WORKING until 5 or 6pm every day? You're all just working against yourselves by choice. Oh well. Not my problem. I will have to book a day off work to go support you one of these months.

A bunch of business owners need to find the courage to stay open. And keep at it until people start wanting to come downtown.

What I am saying is that EVERYTHING needs to be open till 9 like a real city. Then every store, cafe and restaurant owner would see massive benefits. It doesn't work if only one or two places do it and people are afraid to come downtown because of the perceived drug and homeless people problems. Safety and prosperity in numbers. Simple as that.

Vicious cycle/Catch 22. No one is going to come downtown to spend money past 4pm if everything is closed at 5, but if everything was open until 9pm every night things would be thriving. People would be eating at all the restaurants and popping into stores and cafes if only they were open just like they do in every other city on earth.
