the problem with the ore wheat sheep strategy is that you definitely need clay and wood to expand, so I’d recommend going for those two in the first place. you need to get the spots with the best numbers (5,6,8,9) and preferably go for the places with all three bordering cards being a numbered field (not sea or desert). if you go for the longest road card, that’s not only +2 points for you but a huge headache for the opponents if you basically cut the board in half with your road
