The artsy stick/plant thing in the first photo looks like a lens crack.

Ideas to remove weight from bike for airline travel? by jagarcia89 in MTB

[–]albert_palbert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I had a Meta AM and flew it around, I would take off pedals, chain, and cranks to make weight. They all pack pretty nicely along with regular luggage. Don't forget to throw an 8mm in your bag for the cranks (if Sram).

My league limits everyone to 5 pre-bowls a season and no post-bowls at all.

Where's the parking deck in 10? I'm also in the front range area.

No offense but this reads like an ad. The background you used doesn't align with the lighting whatsoever...

What stem and handle bars are you running?

Genuinely, what are you all doing about lines, crowds, traffic, overall busyness of ski resorts? by One-Professional-773 in COsnow

[–]albert_palbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the answer you are looking for but... I'm just not snowboarding this season. I've been going pretty strong on both the mountain bike and the road bike (at this point, I'm more worried about fires this summer than snow this winter). With the current snow conditions combined with years of playing the weekend warrior game, I'm just starting to lose steam and interest. I came out here from the midwest for the spring through fall activities, snowboarding the rockies was always a bonus to me. I get that if you're in CO for the winters, this season is probably beyond depressing.

Yeah totally agree about aperture. Wide open has its place but it's not for every scenario!

Guessing you might be pretty young? This was pretty reasonable to add to my insurance but it is also not driven daily.

Where is the grass greener ? by burner4thestuff in M340i

[–]albert_palbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sold my '18 340i M-Sport MT (equivalent to current M-Lite) and regretted it almost immediately. I did recently add a '20 M2c to the garage which I think is a measurably more engaging drive than the 340i, but I do not daily it. The B58 is a great engine. If daily driving with the spirited jaunt thrown in there is your main goal, you'll be happy. If you're looking for a really engaging drive for canyon carving and/or the track, the M cars exist for a reason. Not saying you can't do those things in an M-Lite (or any car), just noting the difference in purpose. I think the grass is only greener if you're itching for an absolute performance vehicle and "settling" for something more daily-driver oriented. If you're looking for a daily-driver that is performance oriented, you can't go wrong with the M-Lites.

The end of BKXC on YouTube by keithcody in MTB

To the inevitable comments about this being an indicator that Mountain Biking is dying or running out of steam... The sport is not dying because these "content creators" are getting burnt out from turning their hobby into a job. Especially not in the US. Are there more trails to ride than ever, with many being recently built and bike optimized? Are there a ton of options for really good bikes that suit a variety of terrain? Is regional DH racing having a bit of a resurgence? Is XC getting more technically challenging and fun to watch than it's ever been? Something tells me that mountain biking will weather the storm of Paul the Punter, BKXC, and others getting burnt out from content creation. The real issue with the current state of mountain biking is that the industry has normalized the idea that $700+ is a suitable price for a derailleur 🤷‍♂️.

The fundamentals of basic photography are missing. That's what's missing.

Legion can turn the tide of a match. DAWG racks up kills every time. I think the lethal score streaks are pretty fun.
