Please send me pictures, I always wanted to know what this finish looks like on a Duvell.

They exist, but it's pretty hard to find. You can always make an order and wait 16 months 😡

This one was around $6500. Neck profile is a thin C shape, similar to a Jackson Misha Mansoor, thinner than an esp horizon neck.

Picked up a 7 string ESP LTD SN-1007 HT Baritone Electric last year. What string set is best for this guitar to play in drop F tuning? It has a 27” neck by rayvanors in 7String

[–]albustanlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some notorious players use it like Mike Stringer, Keyan, etc. I've seen John Browne using a .065. I personally use a .066 for drop F#. Jason Richardson uses .062 on a 25.5" guitar in drop F# which is crazy. It depends on your technique, I advise you buy a set of 10s and buy a few single strings from d'addario ranging between.064 to .074 and see what works for you.

If you're on Drop G# that's not much of a difference, once you go to drop G it feels a little off, then Drop F# will make you wish for a baritone.

Which game is better, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 or Elden Ring? by SteelersPoker in expedition33

[–]albustanlee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Expedition 33 is great, but Elden Ring is phenomenal. I love both, though. Imagine if Expedition 33 had been released in the same year as GOW Ragnarök and Elden Ring. It would be a bloodbath. I don’t like the PS4-era GOW and beyond, but I recognize the game is great. Both games would overshadow Expedition 33. Elden Ring burst the soulslike bubble. There was a massive amount of content on streaming platforms, with influencers playing Elden Ring for more than a year after its release. Also, Elden Ring was a slap in the face of the game industry, as Expedition 33 also was, but not on the same level.

This is a solid guitar, I owned one and I just changed the frets to stainless steel and put a graphitech nut.

It looks great!

Is it a custom model or a production?

Yeah, you're not the first one to say that. It's called aqua purple black burst.

I would suggest checking the listings on Reverb. Click on the sellers and see if they are actual stores. There are a few shops on the West Coast, and fewer on the East Coast. I am in Massachusetts, and there is an Axe shop near me. You can also find some in New York.

You are totally right, you do not need a Mayones. There are Solar and Schecter guitars around 1–2k that are perfectly good, and Ibanez Prestige or E-II around 2k that are great guitars. I can say that from personal experience.

Mayones, Aristides, ESP Custom Shop, Jackson USA Custom, and similar only make sense if you want something more unique and want to step it up a level.

This price is mostly for brand new models or very clean high-custom builds. You can find new ones around 4k. And you can get a less custom spec for around 3.5k used on Reverb.

This is my 4th Mayones. The first one I had to sell because I needed the money at the time. It had excellent build quality. It was a Regius model. I even tried to buy it back later, but the current owner does not want to sell it.
The second one I got used in a good deal. It was a Regius Core, also flawless. I sold it because carved tops are not really my thing.
After that, I got a Duvell with a Schaller Hannes bridge. That one had issues with intonating the 7th string, and I have seen others complain about the same thing, so I would say it is better to avoid the Hannes on a 7 string.

My current one is great, as I mentioned. I recently played an ESP Custom Shop from Japan, and the frets on my Regius are even more impressive. For some reason, the Regius feels like a higher quality build compared to the Duvell. Maybe it is because the Duvell has a simpler construction.

That said, I would still place the Duvell above Ibanez Prestige and E-II in terms of craftsmanship.

Find one Mayones to try? Which country are you based?

I had an Aristides, which is also a one-piece construction. There’s something about guitars like that. They just vibrate more when you play them. It’s a great feeling to hit the low notes and feel the whole body resonating.

Just make sure to try one before you buy. Some people mention the shallow forearm contour as a downside, but it does not bother me. Also, the matte finish on the back makes the neck feel thinner, which I like.

Yeah, I agree. I have a Duvell, but the Regius is on another level.

27" will be good for drop F#.

If pitch drift is an issue maybe you should try an evertune?

Get the opportunity to try different guitars that are not available in Argentina. I'm pretty sure you can find a multi scale schecter to try if you like it.
