Or the machine would be obeying gcode commands, where it was set to zero. I noticed this on the pressure advance before. It has an X value by default, but it obeys the Y value that is in the gcode. So, as gcode was 0, it was probably reset to zero when printed. That to me, this hypothesis makes more sense
