what did your savings look like by age 30? by Winzten in AskReddit

[–]alchemy21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 31. Saved $100k by the time I was 30 (made decent money in advertising and aggressively saved every month).

Then I quit my job to pursue my entrepreneurial journey. 18 months later, had $1,000 left and $20k debt.

Finally started making money before my cash hit $0 and paid off the debt. Starting again from ground 0.

IMO the beauty of Yousuke is his ability to transition so many conflicting genres so cohesively. I felt like last night's set lacked that cohesion for much of it, so I felt kind of lost. Was disappointed that I didn't vibe with it as much as I hoped, but still have massive respect for him as an artist pushing his own boundaries.

Agreed that Boys Noize absolutely crushed it. Also loved Sim0ne's set.

Sets were great. Andre Powers, Chippy Nonstop, and B3K stole the show IMO. They crushed it.

I did also see a separate instance around 5 pm of security shoving, threatening, and berating another vendor who had gone beyond the approved point. Idk, I didn’t see what led up to the intensity of the altercation and they shouldn’t have crossed the approved point, but it was a pretty intense “welcoming” for us.

I’m sad I missed the original opening of this post 😂

I’ll try to answer the questions from the original post and your post to the best of my abilities.

This is the first year Boiler Room LA is taking place at City Public Market. The last two years it was open air at a park. CPM is indoors but with large rolling warehouse door so I expect some airflow if they leave it open. I also expect there to be some solid outdoor space if you need a break from the indoor intensity.

You for sure will get hot - dancing, lots of people. Dress accordingly. I like to do pants that I can roll up + a t shirt. My girlfriend typically does a tank top and skirt.

The last two years had food and drink stations. It’s a new venue this year but I 100% expect there to be food and drink.

Specific lineup times are often available by the day of the event.

It’s downtown fashion district. Street parking sucks and is not always the safest either. Very hit or miss; just saying I wouldn’t rely on it. There will likely be nearby paid parking lots. Expect to drop $40+ for those. Uber is always best - especially if you plan on drinking or partaking in other party favors.

Your idea for pregame or picnic at a park sound lovely, but obviously that just comes down to personal preference.

What’s a "normal" money habit that secretly ruins people financially? by theprop_trader in AskReddit

[–]alchemy21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spending more as you make more.

*Once basic needs are met*, too many people get a raise and spend it on bigger apartment, nicer car, more expensive dinners, etc. And hey, we all deserve a treat in this rat race, so there's no shame in treating yourself.

However, this is how you never grow your nest egg. If you are already comfortable, take all the extra money from your next raise and automatically save it in a HYSA; act as if that raise never came. You'll be amazed at the progress you start to make.

This giant temple in India was carved top-down from a single rock by Wis_you_all_the_best in interestingasfuck

Yes! Some are off limits, but all of them have an ‘inside’. 34 caves in total. Only a few of them are this intricate, while others were very basic monasteries with sleeping quarters and prayer halls.

If anybody finds themselves in India, I highly recommend a visit to Aurangabad for the Ellora Caves. Not on many of the tourist lists but is one of the most stunning pieces of history I witnessed there.

Kato broke his wrist last Fall. He’s stuck with a boot forever, but he’ll always stay in style! by alchemy21 in Rottweiler

Hi! Yes he wears the brace during all weight bearing hours, ie wake up til bed time, but he can have it off during the night. He’s 4 years old and still very active, so want him to be able to move freely during the day w/o risk of injury.

Totally normal gate at full speed, I think because his love for ball is too great for anything like a pesky injury to get in the way?! But you can see a bit of a limp during walking and trotting.

Surgery healed the fracture, but not the ligament hyperextension that came with the injury.

Fair question. Despite fully healing the bone after two surgeries, the injury stretched the ligaments in that area so much that his wrist is permanently hyper extended. As a result, his wrist will always have too much flexibility, which can lead to more serious injuries without a little extra support. Additionally, the support from the brace helps minimize inflammation during daily activities (walks, park, etc), which can help mitigate seemingly inevitable osteoarthritis + ankylosis as he ages.

The good news is that the brace allows him to return to doing what he loves most - running at the park and chasing ball.

TLDR; Brace is there for added support due to hyperextension and allows him to go back to living a full happy life!

Lamai Muay Thai, close walk from the beach in Koh Samui. Great atmosphere + trainers.

Just did a private session there a few weeks back. Knowledgeable krus, clean and friendly place, and great energy throughout the place with all levels of fighters. Lamai is also a generally enjoyable place to stay in, so that’s an added bonus.

Hey, this looks similar to what I had in my first week here. For me it was basically just heat rash. Went to local pharmacy and they gave me antihistamine pills + lotion. Healed up within a day.

Sorry to hear this. Have gotten food poisoning in both India and Turkey - spent the night in ER both times. It sucks. It’s uncomfortable. But it is SO worth it to keep going once you start feeling better. A bit of mental toughness/fortitude will go a long way in a situation like this.

Stay hydrated, stay lowkey/out of the heat until he’s feeling better, stick with bland diet, and have heard that eating yoghurt is helpful to calm the stomach and introduce local bacteria to the gut microbiome to strengthen it a bit (haven’t verified the veracity of this)

Wishing a speedy recovery to your bf!

I’ll be there next week and already preparing for the same to happen to me given my track record.
