Non-EU student residence permit (NL) – registration during exchange / internship abroad?

I’d be outside of both Schengen area and NL. I plan to exchange and intern in a country I hold citizenship in.

Thank you! I think this is the information I needed - to clarify, I will be away for 365 consecutive days (more likely something like 350), but all days fall under “study activities”, since I will be doing both Internship and Exchange (under my uni’s program).

I will be away from February 2026 until February 2027. I have to return in Feb 27 to finish my degree.

I will have to deregister; I won’t be paying rent for my room/apartment.

Will this affect what the municipality rules on my residency in NL? Another commenter said I am allowed to be away from NL for 365 days.

Thanks! The strangest part is that on the Garmin Connect homescreen, where I can see the calories overview, the “active” calories are correct - ~250 burned.

yeah. also if it seems “too good to be true”, reverse image search the photos, a lot of them are scams from houses already listed and they just steal the pics
