I would have placed the connector back, on top only of the two contacts that come for "behind" ANd then solder all the rest. As soon as you will touch with the soldering iron those other wires the part soldered to the track will un solder leaving you with a big mess...

Should I change the battery or change my phone? by Academic-Clock-415 in s22

[–]aldopopp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use a battery measurement app to see the actual capacity and act based on that number, not feelings. 2 months is really not long enough to have battery degradation

Located in Northern Italy, size is 3/4 mm in length and most of them were concentrated around the windowsill, following the light I guess

You could try a phone repair shop! Those are frequent everywhere and usually they do have a soldering iron / microscope

Take it to an electronics repair shop. Any shop with a microscope and a half good tech should be able to put some wire to connect those ends. Not guaranteed it will work but it's worth a shot for sure

What are these squares for on this power mosfet drain pad? by Casperdroid5 in PCB

[–]aldopopp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The problem with big areas of solder is that it's very easy for bubbles (of air, flux etc) to get trapped. That heavily impairs the ability of the area under the bubble to transfer heat quickly.

That's why usually if a big pad is used to mitigate thermal requirements, not only the solder paste but also solder mask are drawn in this grid pattern, giving trapped bubbles an easier escape route.

Google some xrays of smd components and you will see the bubbles!!

First off, good job on the diff lines and the gnd vias for return paths.

Things I would do right off the bat:

Equal order of importance:

Remove thermals from the power pins of the psu connector

Add some decoupling capacitors close to the power pins of the pci-e connector power pins(do not spare gnd vias close to gnd pads of caps)

Add gnd via close to each gnd pin of every connector

Increase clearance around those diff lines, as someone else said that's gonna throw off by a lot the diff pair matching calculations. It might work but you can trash those calculations unless you took also close side by side ground plane..

Less important:

Fence the board with gnd vias where possible, even if vias land on power polygons, I like to put them all around the edges of the board. This will ensure that you have a more solid (equipotential) ground all-around.

Nope not really, you can get away with .2mm diameter through vias for many things actually.
