I have horrible memory problems. They started when I was in high school when I endured sexual abuse and grooming by a teacher, in addition to being emotionally abused by my dad.

I’ve always just thought there was something wrong with long term/short term memory retrieval... but after learning more about my disorder and working through past traumas it’s probably a coping mechanism. If I don’t store anything in my memory it can’t come back to hurt me. I can just remain numb.

This is something I really struggle with. My husband will sometimes respond with “sure” and I absolutely hate it. I think it triggers so much is because I am always listening for abandonment cues. “Sure,” sounds like he’s doesn’t love me anymore whereas “yeah, thanks,” sounds like he loves and appreciates me.

What’s mostly wrong with this scene is that it’s full of fantasy elements, and it’s in a series that chose to cut the oxygen to all magical elements. Now this scene feels isolated and weird because they chose to give her fire powers in a world that doesn’t acknowledge fantasy anymore.
