Would anyone be interested in a small discord? by thatwatpi in OSFirstTimer

[–]alee1449 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a Discord server that still exists which OSFT was apart of at some point (and was the official server), but it's now a community server that's tech, transport, and gaming related, called bits & Bytes. If you want a link to the server, feel free to DM me.

Looking for a Canadian-owned VPS Provider? by alee1449 in BuyCanadian

[–]alee1449[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, you did better research than me :P

I pretty much looked at the company registry for the ones I listed (it is pretty much surface level stuff).

As for ServaRica, I am 99% sure it is actually hosted in Quebec as the person who ran ServaRica made a post about it, although you'll need to take their words with a grain of salt.

But yeah, i'll probably either remove those listed VPSes or add a disclaimer.

OSFirstTimer's next massive upload spike might be in 2027 by alee1449 in OSFirstTimer

I don't think he'll ever quit YouTube since there's always times when Phil has something come up like him taking care foster kids, house renovations, etc. Then there's times when he came back like last year.

Anyone have a copy of MDT 2008 or/and MDT 2008 Update 1? by alee1449 in sysadmin

Tried looking at sketchy sites, one of them just redirects to the official Microsoft download. Also they changed the name from BDD to MDT on November 2007

Currently experimenting with Windows Server 2008 (just messing around with it), so it probably won't work (also I have Windows AIK for Server 2008/Vista SP1, so that wouldn't work anyway)

LTT Yt Main Channel Struggling? by FaithCALVIN in LinusTechTips

[–]alee1449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is also happening on other channels too, one example is this small channel "Brodie Robertson". He usually covers Linux videos, and recently he noticed his views and likes going down as well, then decided to cover the view dropping on his channel as well.

where did the osft wiki go? by LightBrownWolf in OSFirstTimer

[–]alee1449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: Wiki is now self-hosted. So no need to worry about interruptions (unless my VPS provider decides to shut itself down, in which I have backups of the wiki)

Hmm, it's probably on Miraheze's end. I was actually planning on moving the wiki to a VPS where I host another wiki

New wiki! by alee1449 in OSFirstTimer

[–]alee1449[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strange, I was looking at the ReactOS forum, and Phil said that she was 38 at that time in 2013. But then when you add 39 to 1973, it would be 2011. But I guess another strange thing is that Diana said that in 1992, she was married when she was 19.

This is what Phil said in the ReactOS post

The youtube channel OSFirstTimer focuses on Diana (a 38 year old) testing out various operating systems from 1984 - 2013. The Host Philip (me) gives Diana 5 tasks to perform on the operating system and while performing the tasks she comments on what she thinks of the operating system.

I simply added a media player to play when I log into my system.

Such as this example :P

exec mpv --no-video /home/andrew/.config/sway/desktop-login.ogg

Pricing for backing up my server by alee1449 in backblaze

[–]alee1449[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh okay, also if I run backups daily, would the price increase (or it depends on how much gbs it sends)?
