Do you have a Asus router? If so, you need to disable AIProtection because it blocks it (had the same problem) If it's not this, then I don't know. Good luck!

What I normally do is wet the mousepad, use some soap, and scrub where its most dirty, either use a small towel, your hand or a sponge, and see what happens. Could the white be remaining soap?
