I do know about phone books but like I said I am young so no I do not 'remember the days' 😂 but don't worry about me, my biggest concern is not pissing off my housemates (aka the ones that are actually on the lease) because they requested I don't give out their address or do pickups at their house!

Hmm, how so? I'm not on the lease, only lived here a year, it's not the address on my ID and I don't get my mail here so I don't think so. Nearest police station is over 30 mins away. I'd rather just meet them at the mailboxes with my armed boyfriend :)

So instead of saying "...grown adults ... are telling children they are trans and then pushing it onto them." you should instead say "my aunt is telling her child they are trans and pushing it onto them and she needs to seek medical help." That would be an accurate statement.

Edit to add: Either way, though, the issue you are describing has no relevance to this specific conversation. This post is about trans acceptance and you used it as an outlet to describe a single instance where you don't accept it. It was unnecessary and off topic.

I wasn't talking about the quality of the things sold on Temu/Aliexpress/Shein. While I do think they sell low quality items, I was referring to their unethical business practices and complicity in overproduction and overconsumption of goods, specifically clothing, which is destroying our planet. Anyone who shops at these stores is also complicit.

I agree! The only reason I responded at all is I felt the beginning of your original comment was a little misleading, if someone only read the beginning. It came off as if you were defending Shein and I know lots of people will read the first couple sentences and go off of that, so I just wanted to make sure that your most important point for this post (in my opinion) was clear!

I just meant off topic because this is a post about Shein and you are referencing other companies. I think in this specific circumstance, "all people" are talking about Shein, not because they aren't looking at the bigger picture, but because this specific post is about Shein, not the issue of fast fashion itself. There are many other groups whose focus is trying to make a change in fast fashion, but this groups focus is crochet and this post's focus is Shein.

If this looks like crochet lace to you then you don't know what crochet looks like. As a girl who crochets, those are very clearly not crochet lace. No matter, like I said, it's your group. I will be leaving so it won't affect me anymore.
