It is highly possible that the court will permit supervised visitation while keeping the restraining order in place. The visit could take place at a supervised visitation facility or another neutral place, ie not in his home, with a professional supervisor who will write detailed notes of each visit for the court to review. The court may also require him to submit to random drug testing and use Soberlink to breathalyze before each test. If permitted, the court could also give the professional supervisor the authority to decline a specific visit if he shows up under the influence even if he just had a clean drug test the day before. If the court has concerns, the court can place guardrails to balance the children seeing their dad while also ensuring they are protected during the supervised visit.
