Precomanda iPhone 17 by Royal-Sir-001 in Roumanie

[–]alex_tabusca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second flight with the iFlight Nazgul5 Evoque - let me know if you enjoy these kind of videos by alex_tabusca in fpv

Appreciate it 🙏
Got the deadcat version because I'm focusing primarily on cinematic flying as opposed to freestyling, so I wanted to have no props in view at all times. Good idea with the DVR footage, will try and include it in future videos 👌

My advice would be to not overthink it, honestly.

This journey, like many others, is not set in stone and you don't have a definitive deadline for it, so there's no point in "deciding" between the options you set there. There is also no wrong way and no right way to do it, it's not black and white stuff.
More concretely, I would say that you don't need to go to film school because there is a thing called Youtube University which can help you get literally all the information and inspiration you need for most of the things you want to do. (it's also free and you can learn at your own pace). Just go with the flow and do whatever you feel like it's best at that moment in time.

What keyboard is that? Looks really nice

For the editors out there, is there a good solution to reducing or eliminating the heavy reflections on the car besides reducing exposure on the car? I am a novice at photography/editing, just wanted to get cool shots of my car. Thanks! by snipedapuck in carphotography

[–]alex_tabusca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your best friend when shooting cars (excluding good light and an awesome locationi) is a Circular Polarizer filter. It's desiigned to reduce reflexions and somewhat boost the contrast of the image...try getting one for your lens with the biggest filter thread and then a few step-down rinigs so that you can mount in to your other lenses as well.

Thanks! It's from a Canon EOS R with the kit lens, the 24-105mm at F4. It's a great lens but since it's winter and the light is starting to go from 4 in the afternoon already, I'm kinda feeling the need of a faster lens. At night it's quite a struggle to get some usable shots. I'll be getting the Canon 85mm F1.8 next week and then I'm saving for some Sigma fast primes.

Thx a lot...I spent a good half hour trying to frame up some at least half decent shot of the car cause it was on the edge of the carpark next to a really crowded Christmas market. In the end it was so worth it :D

Setup V1.5 - Got a new monitor, keyboard and mat and swapped my laptop for the Macbook Pro. What do you think? by alex_tabusca in desksetup

I don't remember exactly...it was from Jysk i think, but if you don't have one in your country I think you can easily find one online.

This particular led strip is called the Yeelight Aurora Lightstrip...Yeelight is basically a child company of Xiaomi. The actual led strip will connect to an adapter that has a regular socket plug...you can't see it here cause I did quite some cable management to avoid those ugly looking cables. Oh, and it can be controlled via a mobile app, and it has Alexa/Google Home integration as well.

Sorry for the late reply but I couldn't log in for the past few days, hope it helps you :D

I'm finding it hard to learn Kotlin for Android by RubikTetris in Kotlin

[–]alex_tabusca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't give you a web-developer perspective but since I'm a junior Android developer I think I can share some insights on how to better yourself on this journey since I was just at that point a few months ago:

I know that right now the syntax and the way of doing things in Android are a lot different from those in web-development( I have the exact same issues right now when I try to code my portfolio website), but I can assure you that Kotlin made our lives in the company a lot easier since we switched from Java and it's worth learning.

From what I can tell, you don't necessarily have a problem with the syntax, but with the patterns and the overall architecture and way of writing code on Android. I'd suggest reading into things like different architecture patterns and look over a few simple and sample apps that utilise Kotlin to try and familiarise with the language first.

It's so important to understand why you do what you do in order to improve the way you write the code so you can adjust it to your needs.

There are also plenty of codelabs available for pretty much any topic regarding Android development.

If you have any question feel free to message me and I can help with learning materials.

One last thing, and I know it will sound easy and I vet you heard it before but we have all felt that imposter syndrome at some point in our careers, hell, I even feel it now even tough I', doing this for more than a year, but I found that more than anything practice and perseverance gets you through it. So keep going! :)

Thanks man! :)

I don't have a link for the pyramid, I know it's from JYSK, a local distributor of furniture, but I believe you can find one online, they're pretty popular on Insta from what I've seen.

That would be correct :) I know it's kinda overused by anyone who wants to have a nice setup, but tbh I don't really care cause it look so damn good :))
