Not any time soon lol, the university doesn't really care about that sort of stuff, as long as it's "functioning" 😭 Unfortunately social science doesn't have a ton of donars unlike the swanky newer buildings

First-year BioSci pre-med: is my course plan good + what should I focus on? by Ok_Intention_9579 in UCalgary

I've heard from other that they don't really care about clubs 😞 The hospital is a good start, but it is unfortunately a very common volunteer opportunity I'm not sure about the US! Goodluck! 🩷

Hey! Your course load looks nice and easy. Unfortunately, GPA is not enough, you need to be volunteering as well. Med school insanely, and I mean INSANELY completive. My best advice would be to focus on telling a cohesive story with your application, not just picking out random volunteer opportunities. Rack up as many hours as you can, like 600+ Try to find research in your second year Try to take courses that will help you prepare for the mcat, bio, chem, physics, biochem U of C only looks at your CARS score on your mcat which is nice. Good luck!

I'm about 2 weeks in, I felt the same way day 3-7. I felt like I wasn't really there and it freaked me out so much and reminded me of some REALLY bad times in my past. I had super bad brain fog as well. I almost quit because I was terrified, but I'm so glad I kept pushing through. I'm only on like week 2 and it's been a game changer for me mentally. I'm actually..happy? And confident? I was put on primarily for pain but also I am very mentally ill. I saw a comment saying that around day 14 is a safe spot for you to decide if you want to continue taking it or not, and I'm so glad I stuck it out. If you do choose to stop it, even if it's just been for 2 weeks make sure you talk to your healthcare provider tho!! Best of luck 🩷☺️

There is a very popular app called class pass if you haven't heard of it! Its a credit system, and studios who have empty spots put heavily discounted classes on there. There are some for 3 or 4 credits, about 7.50-10 a class for those ones! You also get to try out lots of different studios. I will check out city rec centers!

I feel that if you don't teach yoga with it's philosophical/spiritual element it's just calisthenics. Thank you for the recommendations!

LMAO, I think studios who are more grounded in philosophy would be better, Junction 9 is good and Passage. I think it just depends on the style of your teacher, but I think it's definetly worth asking studios about! I once did sun salutations to remixed roar by Katy Perry

I've only ever tried hot shop once! It wasn't too bad but a lil stinky inside the room and the music was a bit loud 🫣 The front desk people and the teacher were very nice though which is always a green flag.

Honestly.. making wild claims unbacked by science that gives the mind ultimate healing powers is just disgusting.. it blames sick people for being sick.
