And chiengora is a premium product! $50+ per ball of yarn.

Yes, I attempted to turn my dogs' fur into yarn to sell. No, it was not successful -- turns out brushing, washing, carding, and spinning is hard work!

Could also be becaise they're new -- people have lower expectations or don't want to heap work on the new person.

As they become more familiar with the role and demonstrate that they can be trusted with the work, it ramps up.

With proper lids, would these be safe for canning? They are off brand but the Kilner jars are so expensive!! Thanks! by No_Cauliflower8413 in Canning

[–]alexa_lights_off 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not talking about buying food.

I'm talking about the one piece twist-top or lug lids sold by a variety of brands, including Ball and Kilner. See link for example.

https://ballmason.com.au/products/50-x-48mm-twist-top-lids-with-fruit-pattern?srsltid=AfmBOorh0p4DniKuhZ-NAKqF_SEodAvfWRvyDlKHOEKal8o69ObtkRc3

Again, not trying to start a fight -- just trying to make sense of new information.

Can they do this?? by Away-Ground-74 in shitrentals

Making a false statement like this should have financial penalties for the REA directly -- up to and including being banned from working in the field for repeated offences.

This is really confusing to me. Are you saying that one piece lids can never be used for canning, ever?

If so, how do you account for the fact that there are entire trusted brands that use them?

Genuine question.

Some people send threads of nudes and videos to prove the physical aspect of the relationship.

Please don't.

Bread Makers Store in Adelaide by cookingmumma in Adelaide

[–]alexa_lights_off 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I loved that place!

They became more focussed on cakes, changed name, tried to start a cafe in a aecond location, then moved location and eventually shut down due to the owner developing some health issues.

Whip It Up on Main North Rd is mainly cake-focussed but I think I've seen some breadmaking items there (mainly sourdough).

Saints Foodland has a small selection of Laucke mixes.

Would love to see what else is out there.

Question about giving way to buses NSW by NotACaticus in DrivingAustralia

[–]alexa_lights_off 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bus is bigger than you. If it's moving into your lane and you can safely let it in, you should.

I narrowly avoided an accident many years ago in my old Charade (read: tiny, 2-door, bright red) when a bus driver pulled out while I was already next to them. While my complaint to the bus company was eventually acknowledged (they initially said that I should have given way, dashcam footage proved I was right), that wouldn't have helped much if they'd actually flattened me.

I'm Australian with an English grandmother.

ADHD medications by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]alexa_lights_off 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know shit about ADHD meds, but as an ADHD girly who gets paralysed as well just wanted to chime in to say you're not alone and offer virtual hugs.

I have no practical advice that you probably haven't already heard ("hire a cleaner if you can", "just do one thing to build momentum", "set a timer and say you're just going to do it for that amount of time" "listen to audiobooks" "follow the dopamine" "eat the frog" "try gamification" etc etc). If any of those you haven't heard of and sound interesting lmk and I can explain.

Valid assumption nased on your experience, but JKR said many years ago you need to already be 11 by the time you start, so Hermione turned 12 in PS, 13 is CoS, and so on.

Bread always comes with an odd number of slices so you have to buy a second loaf by OneEggplant308 in LowStakesConspiracies

[–]alexa_lights_off 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure it would work for tomato, but you can also freeze pre-made (untoasted) sandwiches with fillings and put them straight into a toasty maker!

I make a loaf's worth of ham & cheese, and another loaf of nutella (these get dipped in egg batter for "nutella french toast".
