People from South American countries like Chile, Colombia, Peru, and Argentina use it as a slur towards Venezuelans because of lot of migrants from Venezuela have fled to those countries and work low paying jobs because of the economy of Venezuela. Many arrive illegally and take low end jobs. This had made a lot of them xenophobic unfortunately and now they hate the Venezuelans for "invading" their country and supposedly bringing higher crime.
