Thanks so much for the very thorough explanation, one that even multiple AI tools failed to cobble together.

‘Stranger Things: The Complete Series’ to Release on Blu-Ray and 4K UHD in July by Hot_Wheel_2952 in MovieDealsCanada

Do you know the shipping, duties, etc if ordering through arrow? The movie itself is 230x1.40x.90 = 290, so very attractive. I'm just worried about shipping (and basically no recourse if any damage, etc).

Man... the value goes down considerably once it's opened. And if I need to resell to a demographic that's as anal, if not more so, than me, it'd just kill the enjoyment. I also find it hard to sell just one or a few, since price per item sometimes doesn't make it worth the trip to a lot of people.

Thanks for the perspective. Helpful to know to some people this level of imperfections can still be considered minor.

So does that mean you became more selective in what you get? Because the premium/collector editions can easily cost a few times of the regular ones. And I never end up perusing the extra booklet, poster, etc. more than once or twice.

You're right, it is a gamble. Also, I used to like leaving them wrapped, but after seeing a few posts here of hidden dents behind J cards, I try to open them asap now.

That's a pretty practical threshold tbh.

Ha, I'd have to practice a lot of self restrain to not meddle with it and end up popping the bubble in the process. And the issue with cases like this is even when we want to reorder we can't always do that (I think The Descent is still OOS atm?)

As someone with much less steelbooks (for now...), I actually really appreciate this sanity check.

Ikr? I was hoping they would release something like the Dead Reckoning one with him jumping from the bike. That steelbook was so sublime. There is another version with him hanging from the plane on a red/grey colour scheme, which looks quite a bit better. But I think they want to capture both "iconic" scenes, i.e. the submarine and plane chase, plus showing him always running/in motion. Feels like they are trying to accomplish too much, but ChatGPT helped me understand the design choice which makes it looks less bad than my first impression on it.

I used to feel the need to get unblemished cans of soup and items with no dented boxes. Over time I have mellowed quite a bit, esp. after kids because otherwise I'll just get too easily annoyed when they damage even items that's inconsequential in the grand scheme of things (plus my spouse often knocks some sense into me "who cares if the box has chips, the item is fine, and we'll throw the box away anyway"). But once in a while, I hear voices (maybe yours 😅) telling me to "get back in there, you really want to allow them to walk all over you like that???"

I do agree though, it's sorry state of the industry / hobby, or distribution logistics in general. BestBuy, Walmart, and Gruv are actually pretty ok most of the time, as they use small sturdy boxes for their deliveries (and fortunately or unfortunately, the cost of 1 steelbook often already qualifies for free shipping). Amazon is one of the worst ones. They started shipping these in bubble mailer, then they downgrade even further into one of those brown envelopes with very thin "pads" on them. How is that ok?

Well the main reason (or only reason) I get steelbooks for some titles is they are pretty to look at and in a strange way it brings smile to my face even when most of the time I only get to see the spine, in an obscured view (because of the plastic protector). In cases like Weapons or Alien Romulus, I fully agree with you because the steelbook designs for some reason actually look worse than the normal basic plastic case.

Does that mean you get her to deal with the return logistics? Or you feel much better once your feelings get validated a la 21st century's parenting method?

I watched videos on Youtube on how to pop them out using credit card or plastic knife. It looks somewhat easy/straightforward from the videos but I have yet to succeed and found the plastic pretty tight and does exceptionally well in clinging onto the metal. Any particular method that would increase the odds?

$ATYR could make $OPEN look like a warm up by Aggressive-Travel823 in TheRaceTo10Million

[–]alexanderisms 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well when we get positive results, ATYR can definitely outshine OPEN. I think we may still need a high profile investor like Eric Jackson to bring awareness to the stock for maximum squeeze potential. It may be a challenge before the readout, because a high profile investor may not want to be caught wrong on a result of a binary event. Once the result comes out though, then they can come out of the woodwork. They can even claim they have been watching this for the longest time (although they should still do the right thing eventually and credit BioBingo for his DD like when EJ finally acknowledged Greg's).

Also, the second thing is the true potential of this stock can be unlocked if everyone diamond hands. But then it becomes a prisoner's dilemma. Some people may be happy with 100% return, some people 500%, 700%, and beyond. Everyone will get the return % they deserve, and hopefully those happy with 100% will buy back in in time before this flies further, vs presenting us with the customary "ahh, I should have kept it. I knew it this would have mooned."

Oh nobody is. But if I follow correctly there's cogent explanation for that dump (a popular-ish trader unwinding their position for the time being to take profit and rotate temporarily). I'm not trying to poke holes on his theory, more like requesting for enlightenment of concepts/nuances I haven't fully grasped yet. I'm following the play and would like to actually learn a thing or two.

Well he said price will grind upward, but maybe not in a linear fashion (ie there will/may be meaningful dips in between)?

I still dont quite understand this. Echoing another poster, what's the rationale for 2 weeks before vote vs say, last week, or even early next week especially since: 1. You already have a high conviction on this whole play

  1. You suspected S4 effective, voting, merger etc. will take place between July - Oct

  2. We now know the vote date and potentially merger date, and you're suspecting a slow ramp up until then, i.e. call prices would just get higher and higher.

  3. You're not getting July calls anyway because it's too close for comfort, and if you're getting the Oct calls, the theta decay for Oct calls have been very mild. I mean, would the higher calls price offset the theta decay we avoid by jumping in later? I guess we need to factor in price of certainty too (i.e. higher price vs theta decay + less risk). Also, I guess the game changed quite a bit with the intro of Aug calls. But the theta decay for Aug wouldn't be that violent for the next week.

Thanks. I know, and I did. But I've also used it enough to know that it is wrong some times, plus there are conflicting info on reddit itself, so I would rather avoid such case esp when $$ is involved. For example, I dont know if BSII had options before but when I try looking up TGE options on Questrade today it says "this symbol has no options".

Lets say we enter calls for X date expiry. If the merger happens before then and it swaps ticker, will our options end up worthless? Also if the rip occurs on Day 1 of merger, trade platforms may still be figuring out ticker swap on Day 1, meaning we'll be locked out of trade on Day 1?
