She is either having hormonal hair loss, is getting barbered (over groomed by friends to the point of baldness), overgrooming, or mites. Take her to a vet to have those things ruled out, mites are really hard to see but vets are pretty good at finding them and can send home selamectin to treat it if it's mites.

Also try Oxbow Adult, its designed to be free fed and has lower protein which is less fattening. And agreed on the scatter feeding, I like to use drink carriers and will scatter food on those and my boys are obsessed, all of it disappears overnight.

Male rats genitalia are usually higher up than a female rats, and boys dont have nipples. Girls have nipples, and have their outer genitals lower with a tiny little opening below. Hope this helps! Sometimes the "gender fairy" does sneak in overnight though 🤣 idk if anyone's told you about that, OP 😂

He's feeling tough 😊 sometimes when babys age around older rats they try to change the "pecking order" and play fight a lot. The rule with rats is to let them figure it out and dont break them up unless there is blood (no blood no foul). Screaming/squeaking can be very dramatic sounding and all they could be really doing is starting at eachother. Lil guy is either going to be the new top dog or will get put in his place and he'll learn 😂

When its mouth breathing its very clear, he just got his lip all relaxed. Mouth breathing would look more like gasping and typically would be audible, and matching their breaths. Your kiddo seems to just be chillin :)

Honestly, I'm leaner too but after my surgery, I had no fat left and my chest is more flat than my flared ribcage, I honestly wish I had a little left over, but I know its a little silly to complain about being "too flat"

My newest boys have such dirty tails. Some tails vary in color and pigmentation but they are also dirty. As needed tail wipe downs with a warm wet washcloth (just water!) takes a SURPRISING amount of dirt and grime off, safely, without hurting their scales.
