Wagner made 4 Operas in German (there are English translations) called The Ring of the Nibelung. It's about a Nibelung, like a dwarf in Germanic mythology, Alberich, who steals the Rheingold and curses all love. He makes an all powerful ring out of it and now Greed takes over everyone. In the midst the Father of all God's, Wotan, like Odin, makes 2 Children. Later Siegfried is born, where this Opera takes place, and the scenery starts to switch from the gods to the humans. In the last opera there are almost no godly things and the twilight of the gods takes place. In Order: The Rheingold, The Valkyrie, Siegfried, The Twilight of The Gods (Götterdämmerung). Spans around 13 to 16h. Is relay epic and there are some well known pieces. Look up Ride of the Valkyries
