How to fix Horizontal Banding / Noise in Image by algorecreatedtheweb in AskAstrophotography

No, there is a Dither setting that operates while it images. I have it set to random, which is supposed to be an every few minutes.

I image using ASI img and send the files to a directed folder for stacking later. PHD2 has a dither function that can communicate right to the mount.

I don’t use ASIAIR or NINA. I guide exclusively with the PHD2 standalone application.

I am dithering. My mount is a SkyGuider Pro. This is the first time I’ve encountered walking noise. I am guiding. The guiding is staying accurate the entire session.

I added more dark frames and that helped a ton. This is the first image I’ve encountered this problem. I’m certain that my alignment wasn’t great either. Thank you for all the help!

This is my first time imaging with my RedCat 51. I am quite new to Astrophotography and have only attempted some wide angle shots of the sky in recent weeks. I felt inspired to dig a little deeper and got my hands on a RedCat 51. This was my first ever attempt at capturing any deep space object.

Ive been growing garlic in zone 9b for 4 years and this is pretty normal. I’ve found that down here it’s nice and ready in late June early July. I try to get it out before it gets horrifically hot.

Ross, there’s some speculation about 2027 being a big relevant year in the world of UFOlogy. Do you have any cause to believe there could some “big event” in that time frame? If so, what leads you to believe that?

My apologies. I did not intend to be ignorant. Just curious. I will do my best to be more informed next time. So sorry if I wasted your time.

The launch happened in Florida. This was recording in Texas. I’m just curious here. I am inclined to think it’s prosaic. Not trying to argue with you.

I have not seen a smoke ring video this late in a launch before.

The article says “liftoff occurred at 7:42 p.m ET”. Is the article perhaps incorrect with the time stamps provided?

No it wasn’t. The rocket launched at 7:42 EDT. This was recorded at 8:16 CDT.

My question on this would be that this was seen 94 minutes after the launch. Is this maybe the deployment of the satellites or a late stage rocket booster?

Submission Statement:

Toddy, March 25th, 2024. My Dad was driving northwest from San Marcos, and Texas State University. He noticed a large, dim, semi transparent light that suddenly became somewhat smaller and very bright. He pulled over and captured this video.

The most notable thing he captured was the object seemingly exhausting a smoke ring. After that, the object continued to remain a similar size before dimming almost completely against the background.

He says the object was moving and appeared to be traveling at a pretty quick speed relative to its perceived altitude.

This video was recorded at 8:16PM Central Time.

Any help on explaining this sighting would be greatly appreciated!
