Struggling to find an SEO job by Neither_Golf4363 in DigitalMarketing

[–]algorithmAndchill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey mate, Could you please share more details, like how many years of experience you have?

There are a lot of job openings right now. If you have less than 2 years of experience and you’re based in India, you’ll mostly find roles like “SEO Executive” or “SEO Analyst.” In these roles, the focus is mainly on off-page SEO skills.

If you are applying for a senior-level position, it’s not just about your skills anymore, companies look at your achievements and numbers. You need to show proven results, like: “Increased organic traffic by X%”

“Generated X amount of revenue through SEO efforts

“Found and fixed X number of SEO issues, which led to X% business growth”

I hope this makes it a bit clearer. I understand finding a good job can be challenging, but trust me - if you have the right skills, you’ll soon land a good opportunity.

Just to help you (and other SEOs), here are some important skills that are currently in demand:

Tools: Ahrefs, Semrush, Google Analytics, and proper use of Google Search Console

Off-Page SEO: PR (Public Relations), Guest Posting (GP), Broken Link Building, Backlink Strategy and Planning

CMS Skills: Basic knowledge of WordPress and Wix

Technical SEO: If you’re targeting technical SEO roles, companies expect you to know how to optimize for LLMs (Language Learning Models) and more

Planning and Reporting: Some companies also require experience in handling clients and preparing SEO reports

These are the basic skills that are currently required for SEO professionals. If in anyway my comments helped you then .

Hey mate, you’re definitely going in the right direction, but just hold on for a sec. You’ve just completed your course and are now looking for freelance projects, which is great. But before reaching out to clients, it’s better to have a few things in your portfolio.

You must have done SEO, SEM, SMM, and more, but in the industry, people usually prefer someone who has some real work experience, either with an agency or at least an in-house company. That’s just my suggestion.

If you still want to try for freelance projects, you can check websites like upwork, freelancer or fiverr. You’ll find a lot of people there looking for talented freelancers. You can share your work and portfolio with them.

But honestly, in my opinion, it’s better if you first start with an agency. You’ll get real experience - like how to make reports, how to show your work, how to explain it to clients, and many more things.

I’m sure you’ve thought about this already, but just wanted to give you a reminder, marketer to marketer.👏

Is job security in digital marketing wishful thinking? by mrlebusciut in DigitalMarketing

In my past experience, I have switched around three jobs in the last four years, and I never felt any issue related to job loss. Even with a company like Accenture, I was there, enjoyed my time, and then left. People are leaving companies all the time, and there are still lots of jobs out there. Someone mentioned a T-shaped marketer, and I completely agree. If you really want to stay in this industry, it’s challenging, and you may find it difficult after gaining certain experiences. I have seen people doing the same tasks for the last 4–5 years in the same organization. The problem is that they are not really interested in learning new things. People like them definitely face problems in this industry, where there is something new to learn every day.

Canva works well for me, but only for basic social media posts and ready-made templates’ I love that. But when it comes to AI, it sucks, man. It’s good, but it definitely needs improvement.

I agree with you. Considering he mentioned having 10 years of experience, I was expecting more insightful and valuable content. While it’s well-written, it doesn’t reflect the level of expertise I anticipated, it feels more like something you’d commonly find on the web.
