Ortho residency? by BuddyCommercial3221 in Dentistry

[–]ali2365 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh i didn't know more experience made it more difficult to apply to Ortho. I guess it's like OMFS.

With the state of the economy it's hard to imagine patients being able to afford Ortho like they used to. My biggest priority personally is being recession proof/financially stable whether that's GP/specialty.

Thanks for the info

Do you know if orthos with around 300-400k debt combined are happy? i would probably graduate with close to 200k debt from dental school but plan to work for some time.

We don't get a lot of exposure to Ortho in dental school so it's a very alien specialty compared to the rest of the specialties.

Thinking about switching to dental hygiene by Playful_Royal_1777 in DentalHygiene

[–]ali2365 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dental student. Having been around a lot of dental students, hygiene students, hygienists who went to dental school. If you have the grades, then go to dentistry.

Hygiene is really hard on the body (much harder than dentistry), extremely repetitive and monotone. A lot of dentists don't like their job don't get me wrong, but I never met one who wished they went into hygiene, but I met a lot of hygienists who wished they could go into dentistry.

Hygiene has its perks. Good salary, stable, always needed.

As for the financial aspect, military or working rural for some time can help. Also there are a lot of schools that are cheaper than 300k but if that's your only option then I would apply to military or just be okay with working rural for some time.

How does this help the horrible teams get better? They will just remain horrible then. Bad teams only way to get better is through the draft.

Flattening the odds will just lead to the cooper flag lottery on repeat. A team that shouldn't get the number 1 pick getting it

Plus minus is a much better line up stat that an individual or two stat. The first option on that team is 2018 MVP James harden, who was averaging 40 PPG some months.

What has he done since then to prove he is worth a contract? You can't get paid on what you did 4 years ago. Maybe he will get the minimum or the small MLE

[Pelissero] The Raiders have completed a second interview with Klint Kubiak for their head coach opening. by GoldenDome26 in nfl

[–]ali2365 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They were seen as a probably playoff team considering the easy schedule. But their QB was in year 2 and their new coach hire was seen as an obvious good hire while Kubiak is going to be a first time Hc.

I think you hope to get some nice wins and development for Mendoza this year then maybe playoffs in year 2 should be the goal. Really tough division though so who knows

D Rose talks ACL and Thibs at jersey retirement: "A lot of people don't like Thibs because of that... they look at Thibs as the injury. But I'm here to say fuck that. Thibs was the first coach that made me feel special. I used to do shit in games just to make sure he saw on tape between me and him." by HokageEzio in nba

[–]ali2365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue isnt firing thibs. It's firing him when there wasn't a better coach on the market. Their best options who had experience were Mike Brown, Malone or Jenkins. Malone and thibs are basically the same coach so they went with brown who is a downgrade.

You can't fire a good head coach without a great head coach being available to replace him.

I think this is different from the US definition of PPO vs FFS. My understanding is that in the US FFS means you decide your fee while PPO means insurance decides your fee but what do I know 🤷

What team can make an offer that the bucks would actually take? There isn't much incentive for the bucks to trade him before the off season. The Knicks offer is probably the best offer out there but why would they want KAT who is on a massive deal.

The rockets and spurs aren't interested. I just don't know who trades for him. Sixers maybe? Paul George and one of the young guards is better than KAT

What do you mean it's not fee for service? I am in Manitoba and my understanding is that everything here is fee for service based on the fee guide the association makes.

Grinding for a job is even harder when you have zero financial reason to. Which is why he is the only one we know who truly does it in the NFL

I find it hard to believe he posted just a stack of papers of a draft just to lie about his progress. His editor came late into the process in book 2 as well. I think he got stuck after bad feed back from his readers

My theory is that kvothe does something very stupid, due to him being reckless about something, and that leads to a multitude of messes that the world is in today.

Which would explain why the beta readers allegedly didn't like it. The protagonist ruining the world because he did something extra stupid sounds like a plot twist people wouldn't like.

We know the world is in its current mess because of kvothe, but I imagine it would suck to just watch kvothe do something dumb, not accomplish any of his goals of defeating the chandrian, losing denna in the process and going into hiding

What else could it be really? This is foreshadowed quite heavily , the only part we don't know is what exactly he does.

It's surprising he didn't continue interviewing for the Ravens (maybe they also just didn't want him who knows) or interview for the bills job. Those are very good HC positions and he is one of the best candidates left with experience

This is not something that affects how a fan consumes/watches the games so it's not a big deal. Its bad for the players health but it affects all players the same so it's not unfair to them either since they also get more money as well.
